If Clare win, Davy Fitz will talk about the character of this Clare team

If they lose, he will blame the ref.

    Mark my words! :pac:

    Clare have the momentum!

With Clare back to 15 men, is Podge Collins allowed back on, or does he have to be replaced?

Edit: Never mind, David Reidy on!

Cyrils says the back should win the race. How can he? He has to watch the ball and save it, and then react, Morey would have started his run as soon as Kelly lifted it. Mindless comment.

Serious gap to extra-time ; Are the two teams gone off watching the world cup game?

    Nope.

    Nope.

Seems an odd decision if he is not injured he should still be pretty fresh as a second half sub.

How does the full back end up wrong side there? Shocking defending.

Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes - can't remember the last intercounty hurling game I've seen with as many errors by players.

Wexford should have about 6 goals!

Clare just never look dangerous in posession

    And another save from Kelly!
He's definitely made up for his mistake with the first goal.

If it's level at the end of extra-time, do we get a penalty shootout???

Pa Kelly save from a few mins ago, he would have been disappointed if it beat him, narrow angle

Clare had the wind in that first half of extra-time, and they hit maybe 4 wides?
If Wexford want to win, they have to make sure they don't miss chances like Clare did.

I think the early thread debate about whether Wexford have improved since last year has been well settled anyway :)

Ger Canning is awful when it comes to calling points or wides. Just awful.

Ger: Tony Kelly with the strike.... aaaaannnndddd it sails straight over .... wide.

Rory Jacob, great player to bring on.

At times it looks like Wexford play with no forwards when they are so far away from the goal

"Does any team deserve to lose it?" asks Ger - I'd be saying neither side deserves to win it.

Where are the Wexford forwards ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

Ah Wexford. Some of those long balls into nowhere reminded me of Galway at their worst, some of the wides were embarrassing but my God did ye make this a thriller of a game. Didn't deserve to win or lose.

Will you go away with that bollox talk.

RTE pundits nonsensing on that it was a "great advertisement for the game"

Just because a result is close doesn't mean it was a good game.

Out of the close to 40 players out there how many had a good game?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 687 ✭✭✭megapixel

    Great game of hurling

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,570 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Darach Honan looked like a world beater years ago but now his touch is terrible. He missed an easy chance to win the game also.

What happened to him? Sad to see him look so bad in that game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Sometimes I wonder how Darach Honan is on the Clare panel. He has an awful first touch!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭Mountainlad

Here's hoping tonight's game is as good, with a bit more quality. Thought Wexford did play good hurling first half but died badly. Still hung on, they had the goal chances to win those games. Even if they taken any of those wides they would have won. I hope they haven't missed their chance.

Clare's first touch first half was scandolous. Can any Clare fans that were at the game tell me was Paul Kinnerk in attendance?

    What do you mean ?

That was the worse game of intercounty hurling I've seen in years - the amount of individuals errors by players was off-the-scale.
