Indication of Limerick as National city of culture 2014 on O' Connell street

    Isn't it crazy that there is no indication on Limerick's main thoroughfare O'Connell street of it being the National city of culture 2014 - no posters, flags, banners, plaques, monuments etc. Surely it's an obvious place to inform visitors (or even local's) of this title.

    Very good point!

    They have flags on the bridges, the quays, MIC and UL but putting bunting across O'Connell Street would have been an excellent idea.

    That occurred to me as well. It's gas that they put up Munster flags all over the place on O'Connell street but you'd be hard pressed to find a City of Culture banner anywhere. Even madder that the Munster flags go up and come down at various times as well so it's not like putting banners up is tough!

    Don't you know that catering to the alickadoos is the only way to get ahead in this town. If you have cauli flower ears, it helps your social status as well..:p
