Garmin Nuvi 255W - buy maps or just get new one?

    I need updated maps on my Garmin Nuvi 255W. Am I missing something where just buying a new device with lifetime upgrades makes more sense than buying the map updates? It looks like one time map updates cost €60 but I can get a new device with lifetime maps for not more than that.

    If I have this right what 'bang for buck' device should I get?
