Can any of you experienced folk give advice to help get a job straight out of college. I've just finished a level 8 architectural technology course and I've been applying to jobs here and in the UK with little luck so far aside from a couple of interviews.
so far in order to boost my chances I've been trying to refine my CAD and revit skills and I've been working on my portfolio.

to be honest i think that's all you can do to try and get a job in that field. i think the only other option is to teach.

a lecturer told me before that an employer wants an AT and an IA rolled into one. he said the IA's are at a disadvantage as they don't know revit. i feel if you beef up your portfolio to show you also have a flare for IA and do a little 3D MAX you wouldn't be doing too bad. just a little advice. good look with your job hunt.

Get on to the CAD Agency website. Sorry, can't remember if .ie or .com but I know a certain company with 14 offices across Uk and Ireland are looking for measured survey surveyors. It might not be ideal as a long term career but could help you as a stepping stone?

PM if you need more info.

    Cheers
