Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

People keep going on about Di Maria's form for Madrid, I'll have to take their word for that but he's been flash with no end product any time I've seen him, going back to when he was at Benfica.

Di Maria looked Argentina's best player. Big loss.

His assist stats are insane. He has all the end product in the world

Sick pass. Di Maria is so frustrating.

Sick pass? As in hospital pass? I thought it was sensational myself.

This is much more suited to Lukaku than Origi.

Are you judging him on stats or what you've seen?

    Both

From what I've seen, he is a marvellous player.

The stats prove he has end product

That Messi dribbling was reminiscent of that famous Maradonna vs Belgium photo :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

I hate that surrounding of the ref bollocks. A few bookings would sort that out.

Looked like Fellaini tried to stamp there at the end the dirty fecker

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,460 ✭✭✭Ishmael

Lol, he's very flash with the shaving foam!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

Kerr: " He's very flash with the aftershave". In relation to the ref usin the foam .

I hope Brazil meets Argentina it will be a great game

Sorry dude. It was killer awesome super rad to be fair.

Great cross by Vertonghen, whipped in ball. Fellaini offers nothing.

If at first you don't succeed, foul and foul again.

Kerr :"Origi hasn't got going"... That just sounds strange.

Maybe he's just not suited to major tournaments like the World Cup or the Champions League, a bit like Wayne Rooney.:)

Belgium's lack of tournament experience is telling.

He has been pretty good IMO, in an awful team with no balance. Might be easy for Messi to look amazing, but Angel is a mere mortal

No it would be worse than last night with both teams kicking the sh1te out of each other.

Must be why Rooney (8) and DiMaria (6) came first and second in the Champs League assists stats last season.

Bit disappointing this from Belgium. Argentina on top all over the field.

That pass took 3 players out and the ref blows it up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,673 ✭✭✭AllGunsBlazing

Nothing happening in the final third for Belgium.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,222 ✭✭✭✭Will I Amnt

Lukaku on for the second half, it's not sticking up front at all for Belgium.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,460 ✭✭✭Ishmael

Belgium look dangerous on the break but i'm expecting Argentina will sit back and not commit too many players forward in the second half. Looks like an uphill battle for Belgium. A bit like the France V Germany game yesterday.

Two awful managers on display here.

    Mertens for Fellani is needed.

Would you say his performances in the World Cup are on par with what you've seen of him before in La Liga or is he being held back by his Argentina team mates?

Very impressive from Argentina...more like it. Very sad to see Di Maria leave, hopefully only a minor knock. Imagine losing Aguero and Di Maria in one tournament....that would ruin any team.

Di Maria was man of the match in the Champions league final this year.

Really? I thought that amazing penalty from Ronaldo would've swung it in his favour.

Maybe he'll get the chance to be man of the match in a World Cup final.:)

Early goal for Belgium would make things nice and interesting

Kerr: Fellani with the big bushy head on him.

The replays in this tournament have been awful. Sometimes you want to see a nice piece of skill again, even if it came to nothing.

Mon ta fuk Belgium. Wake up and give them a game.

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Hazard gets a yellow, proving once and for all he is indeed playing in the match.

Higuain should have scored. Nice run though.

Fellaini's a horrible player, in fact Belgium as a team dish out some really nasty stuff.
The contrast between how they're received, and the one sided abuse Brazil took after last night's game is a bit odd tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,587 ✭✭✭weisses

That was a potentially nasty tackle from Hazard

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,056 ✭✭✭Too Tough To Die

    Ooof!

Belgium are really not impressing me.

Not living up to expectations, especially Hazard.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 18,184 ✭✭✭✭Lapin

That chance came from Hazard botching it up the other end.

  • Registered Users Posts: 476 ✭✭twinex

    He shouldn't have leant back...

Unlucky by Higuain. Kerr was right though, should've been a better finish
