Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great performance from Navas so far.

Lovely free kick and an even better save.

Can understand why Atleti want Navas to replace Courtois.

Did well again there. Levante must be loving this, millions added by the game

Depay has that swagger, kinda like Thiago Alcantara.

Horrible individual. Dirty Dutch diver deserves every derogatory decibel definitely. (Now that's alliteration)

A handy enough job, Costa Rica are one of about 20 countries in the world with no army.

If there is an invasion he would have to keep them out himself (which he would probably manage)

    Goalkeeper-off, Navas vs. Howard.

Looked to me that that c-nut van Persie stamped on a player there.

0-0 but it's all part of Van Gaal's plan.

He'll be inside there now with a Chessboard.

"Gather round men, here is my masterplan!"

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,370 ✭✭✭✭Son Of A Vidic

Ref talking to Robben as they walked of the field - "Good lad and if you don't dive in the second half, I'll give ya a nice big shiny star."

Robben I want a 3 and a half round twist preferably in their box

An early Dutch goal in the second half, would bring the Costa Ricans out of their shell and make it a better game.

Hmm, perhaps. Could just play Depay or Wijnaldum in the central attacking midfielder spot, and De Guzman or Clasie could slot in alongside Blind though.

Interesting point from Giles, saying that Sneijder needs to come deeper to pick out the passes and set up the Dutch attacks. But because Giles is old and gets names mixed up, it will be ignored. Sure he doesn't understand "modern football".

    Just noticed Kuyt is playing.

That's bollocks. Kuyt did very well in the first half as he did for the duration of the previous match. Was involved in both of the Dutch best moves and nothing came down his wing from an attacking sense for Costa Rica.

Anyone else see the 2002-2004 Ireland jersey in the middle of all the orange Dutch fans?

It's the same point he makes repeatedly for the past 20+ years.

    Scrap the cap!

What should he have done before you posted then? An admission that you judged him too early then?

No I said I hadn't noticed him at that stage. Can't you read?

Nothing to do with the match itself but the presenter's pronunciation of the Dutch names is only excellent.

Nonsense. If that were true then how come people don't complain about Giles always making the same point?

Better than you can judge a player's contribution to a match.

He's a bit like the Queen Mother, no? Loved by many but nobody sure what the point of him is anymore.

I'd rather a Costa Rican goal to see what the Dutch are made of.

Costa Rica look like a team that will be happy to get to penalties. And we all know how good they are at penalties. So for that reason, I want the Dutch to take the lead.
