    Hi All

Just wondering if anyone has any experience getting short term accommodation in Munich. Arrived here a few days ago with my partner who is under going treatment for two months. Seems like it's difficult to get accommodation normally but even more so for short term. Agencies seem to charge massive commission - not sure if there is any way around this. Getting desperate at this stage so appreciate any advice.

    Many thanks
    Colin

    Have you checked local aparthotels?

Yes but we are really looking for an apartment. Sorry should have mentioned. Need to have a kitchen etc as she needs to cook her own food. We'd like to have a semi decent place to return to after treatment each day. Don't mind paying 1000-1300 a month but everything seems to be 3 month min. Plus commission etc

Most aparthotels have cooking facilities. That's the whole idea.

If the hospital provides long term treatments on a regular basis to patients, maybe they can suggest somewhere to stay.

AirBnB has options for weeks/months of renting, usually decided by the owner. Put in the dates you need for the two months and the search will come up with the ones that do monthly.

does your medical insurance not cover accomodation if treatment is away from your home place, meaning you could just go for a reasonably priced hotel/ aparthotel?

and what are your requirements? Is is just the partner or is is both paitent and partner. And is the treatment daily or a couple of times a week?
Maybe stay somewhere pleasant to the south of Munich?
Lengriess / Bad Tölz are in the foothills of the alps and less than an hour from the city centre.
Sure the bus from Castleknock to Dublin city centre can take that long if youre unlucky!
