Setting a Lawn

Have a fairly large lawn to set in the next week. It approx. 2800 sq metres, roughly 3/4's of an acre. Its fairly well landscaped, ive got it power harrowed and picked all the larger stones last weekend. Its very shaley ground so there was a lot of them and theres still a lot of smaller ones.

Should I go with the cheaper option of just throwing out the lawn seed myself and roll all the smaller stones back down or go with the dearer option of getting someone in with a machine to remove all the smaller stones and get them to set the lawn.

How much a sq metre are garden lads charging to do lawns these days?
