    Hi,
As some of you may remember I bought a Nikon D60 some years back and felt very comfortable with it.
More recently a Nikon D300 with 18-200mm Vr lens came on offer with only 192 actuations on it so I sold my D60 and bought the D300.

Sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake as I am not really comfortable with it and often considered selling it.

Now I have an opportunity to buy a Sony Nex 6 with some lenses etc.

    Sony NEX 6 Body
    Sony E-Mount 18-55mm Kit Lense
Sony LE-A01 E-Mount to Alpha Mount converter
    Sigma 30mm F2.8 Lense
    Sigma 70 - 300mm Lense
    Sony NEX Camera Bag
    Sony Batteries
    Sony Battery Charger
600mm Samyang Mirror Lense with 2x teleconverter

    My Question is.

Should I keep my D300 or should I replace it with the above?

    One other thing.
If I did decide to change.

What sort of value would my D300 have?
It is as new and only has 1900 or so actuations.

    Need to decide asap.

    Thanks

What was it about the D300 that you didn't like?

BTW, I had a Nikon 18-200 (briefly) and have to admit that if that was my only lens, I probably wouldn't bother taking many photos...

Too many buttons and combinations of buttons to get my head around, :o

What about a bridge or compact camera?

Judging by that question I take it you are not for the sony?

I would prefer to stay with the d300 or get the sony.

    On another note.

What would you have instead of the 18-200?

No idea about Sony TBH. I just think a D300 (or any other large DSLR) with a single superzoom lens is a bit pointless, you'd probably get better results and more use from a compact like a Canon G12, Panasonic Lumix or something.

At the moment, I switch between three lenses; 50mm 1.8, 10-20 and 80-200 2.8. Almost the same focal length as your 18-200 covered, but the difference in quality, sharpness, depth of field etc. is worth the effort IMHO. That's why I use a DSLR; for the lenses.

There are times when I would prefer to have a compact, in a situation when a DSLR setup can be a burden, and maybe this is how you feel too? I don't know...

Ooops, sorry, just seen that the NEX isn't another DSLR, I assumed it was. Carry on.
