Wood gasification boiler - thoughts on Maga-MA?

    Hi All,

I've had a good read of all the older threads re: wood gasification boilers and have decided to purchase a system. I have two questions...

    1. Some of the much older threads reference inflated local (Irish) prices and recommend bringing components in on a pallet from other countries. I've noted a drop in local prices since then, so does anyone know whether it is still worthwhile to source overseas? If the saving is minimal, a local warranty and reduced hassle may warrant purchasing here.

    2. Does anyone either have experience with, or an opinion on the Slovakian Maga-MA boilers? They look OK, but then most things look ok in a sales brochure. ;)

    Thanks in advance!

    Nadja

Hi Nadja, I've been looking at all those old threads too! where did all those people go? finished their self build and sick to death of heating/energy/building conversations?! I would love to know how some of those systems worked out over a few years. We are looking at an attack system. Looks like we can get something for about 4k plus installation. With a 1500 litre buffer tank the aim would be to get a second 1500 litre buffer when we can afford it so that we can do a bigger burn less often. I would love to know how many tons of timber people get through in a year!
