Johnny Ryan to referee the game.

Paddy has Wexford at 11/4 and Clare at 1/3, though you'd have to think the match will be a lot closer.

Should again be a good one!

Thought Clare looked ragged and tired last Saturday, hard to see how you can right that in a week. Perhaps resting them is the answer but Davy doesn't do resting! Known how Davy behaves I could just imagine him continuing with his pre planned training schedule and ignoring the tiredness in his players.

Wexford will be raring to go and they will have great vocal support - they always do in fairness to them. If the game is a repeat of the drawn match Wexford will win with their home support roaring them on. Had the game be played in Wexford Park or even in a neutral venue last Saturday I think they would have won.

I give Wexford every chance and hope they do it.

Wexford threw away a great opportunity last week. A man up and 10 pts up at one stage. Think Clare underestimated them last week and only started hurling late in the game. They allowed Wexford too much space particularly in the forwards and Wexford forwards ran riot. Don't think Clare will allow that to happen again. I expect them to tighten up at the back. Clare's forwards have the beating of the Wexford backs. Wexford park will be roiling on Sat night. The Wexford team will not fail through lack of effort but I expect Clare to come through by a slim margin.

I'd say Clare will win this one unfortunately. I cant see us catching them on the hop so quickly from the start again. It would be great to win, but as I said elsewhere here, I just want consitency with Wexford and follow up a good performance with another one.

One thing that does annoy me about last weeks game is how people say Wexford were ten points and a man up, as if both were at the same time. As bad as it was, we were 5 up when Collins was red carded, not 10. Its still not great, but we had more than enough chances with the extra man to get that lead and more back.

Wexford will be on a high after the under 21s winning tonight.

They will surely bring a bumper crowd to Wexford Park?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

You'd imagine they will bring a crowd. Did they leave it behind them last week?

Clare will need to up their performance, but were Wexford playing to the limit of their ability? They did miss a lot of great scoring opportunities.

I would normally tip Clare to win by 4 or 5, but I remember thinking the same last year between KK and Dublin, but Dublin won the replay. If Clare don't up their game a lot, they'll be in trouble. And they've had a few warnings now- Laois in the league, Tipp in the league, Cork in Championship & now Wexford... that's 4 games in a row. When do they wake up?

Changes being... Morey for Donnellan, Duggan for Collins and Honan for Cathal Mc?

Donnellan's been poor this year imo, Morey will play the sweeper role a lot better. And even if they don't play a sweeper, his pace and energy will make him a lot more useful around the middle of the field.

I don't think Peter Duggan is much of a replacement for Podge, but he is a ball-winner and with Conlon out-of-form, that is needed. Will Kelly play the "Podge role"? Or will he do what he normally does?

Honan looked very very bad from the bench the last day, touch was way off. But I suppose he's always hit-and-miss and on a good day, he's unstoppable. And at least he's a different option. 3 big lads in that Clare forward line, won't get pushed around anyway.

Like the look of that side, Morey is too good not to be accommodated somewhere in the side before now, and Duggan will be a useful target (He is pretty skillful too to be fair).

Honan didn't look great in his cameo the last day but hopefully and a few of the others can up their performance levels a few notches.

how did that not go in!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Very poor shot on goal the first one, could have gone over from the rebound.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭Browney7

That was a goal!! Scrappy start. The sweepers are getting a lot of the ball

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Class point from McGrath, awful wide from Conlon.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,049 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Wexford sweeping up lots of ball in defence, but very wasteful so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,570 ✭✭✭The White Feather

Wexford clocking up bad wides already.

What is the exact rule for quick puckouts? One min he lets it go then he calls it back

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,439 ✭✭✭Boots234

Wexford should be 3 or 4 ahead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Another shocking wide for Wexford. And a free...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,049 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Johnny Ryan makes some strange decisions some times.

That wasn't even a first cousin to a free!

Always a bad sign when players from both teams look at the ref in confusion, not knowing if the whistle is for or against them.

    Wides killing Wexford again.

Don't think they'll get away with them this time.

How many steps did Conlon take there for that point?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

Very bad goal to concede... load of space.

    Great point there though.

A good few to many alright. The experiment of moving him inside is working well so far though.

Is it 1 point or 2 points Wexford have scored from play?

Wexford are absolutely brainless with all their long shots. 9 wides so far. Playing against the wind in the second half might actually help them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

10 wides in 28 mins is woeful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,478 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

Lee Chin is a smashing player.

    Good God but Wexford's shooting.

You'd say they were shooting themselves in the foot. Except they'd probably miss that as well today :pac:

Well that was stupid. Right in front of the ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,907 ✭✭✭✭Kristopherus

Silly from Bugler. But what was the ref looking at before that?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,238 ✭✭✭✭Diabhal Beag

Second week in a row. Stupid stuff from All-Ireland champions.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom

Is it a Davy tactic to get a man stupidly sent off before HT to make a game of it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,264 ✭✭✭✭Fireball07

What the fúck is up with Clare's indiscipline??? So stupid. And from such an experienced player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,049 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

Davy really has pissed off these refs. It's a ****en disgrace
