Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Thats not a square ball!!!

Desperate decision by the referee from miles away from the action. It was a goal.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭Dan Chipowski

Was outside the square and made a clean connection with the ball.

Absolutely disgusting decision by the ref.

that one that trickled over the sideline counts as another wide.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

If that's a red card. A normal game will end 10 players a side.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭Browney7

A lot of controversial decisions. A red card and a disallowed goal and a goal that should have been given.

Awful shooting by Wexford. You'd imagine Clare's classier players should be better able to score from distance with the wind to kick on and win even with the man less

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,563 ✭✭✭The White Feather

As much as Wexford have hit really bad wides, Clare have been playing very poor.

If that goal was allowed, they would be behind

I am guessing the lads from the Clare Champion wont be hanging around the tunnel today.

Well McDonald was either going for a point from an impossible angle, or else he was playing the ball into the full-forward..... Except that he is the full-forward.

Bugler's strike looked worse as the play had more or less come to a standstill when he dug with the hurl. Stupid thing to do in fairness.

Do we know what that goal was disallowed for, I was watching on mute, do they know?

I wonder do they get special "danger money" for reporting on matches involving Davy?

It's a yellow card every week though. Why is it a red today.

Just ****e referring. Was probably worried about his safety walking past Davy at HT and wanted to pacify him.

A butt of the hurley into the stomach off the ball is a red card every day of the week, **** knows what sport you are watching.

Just seen the replay definate red card no question.

It was a sending off I thought. Deliberate strike straight in front of the ref when play was stopped. He had to go.

Red card every day of the week, especially
    That close to the ref!

It was a sending off by the Letter of the law, but if that happens tommorrow it won't be a red card. No consistency.

    Wexford have a chance now.

Their backs and midfield are well on top and they'd be well clear if they could shoot straight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,458 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

That was Wexford's best bit of play in the whole match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭Browney7

Jacob might add a bit of quality to the wexford team. He's a great hurler

Maybe if it happens off the ball and umpires and ref aren't 100% sure what happened. When the whistle is gone, the ref is 5 yards away looking right at you, lashing the butt hard into someone's ribs who isn't expecting it is a cheap cowardly and stupid thing to do. Ref had zero options.

It's the clearest red card we will see all year.

If Clare do go out, it will be their shocking indiscipline and loss of control across the two games which will be at fault. The reaction to both sendings off was the same, they are shocked for getting sent off having given the ref no option at all.

Davy will be out afterward saying this is another one that just shouldn't be a red card and it's terrible etc etc. instead of just drilling some simple discipline into his team.

    Hurling referee is terrible.

    Disallowed a goal
    Wouldn't let a quick sideline.

Some Clare players get away with 9/10 steps with the ball

Making ****e up now. Pa Horgan was sent off for a lot less last year in the same fixture - explain that.

The ref had a Half time Clare, Full time Wexford coupon in his back pocket.

Haha. When I saw Wexford had a strong breeze I bet on them to be leading at half time. Not to be :(

Unless Wexford get a couple of goals, I can't see them winning is.

Jack Brown going off. Indecisive ref.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,458 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

I still think Clare will win.

    Davy will be livid

    Surprisingly restrained...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,100 ✭✭✭Browney7

I think Jack Browne would have to take out a gun and shoot someone to get booked again. Edit Just sent him off on the advice of Barry Kelly.

Davy would be entitled to be fuming with Barry Kelly telling the ref. Can't for the life of me see why Johnny didn't send him off of his own volition though

Glad the ref took his time to make the decision, as the lino was much closer to the incident.

I think he couldnt find him there for a bit when trying to give him the 2nd yellow.

Bizzare way to give him the yellow but the call to take him off earlier should have been made by Davy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,054 ✭✭✭✭Professey Chin

Do Wexford actually practice shooting at all?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,115 ✭✭✭Boom__Boom
