Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The referee is obviously a yellow belly anyway

You don't agree with the 2 red cards then.??
    Both calls were correct.
But I agree that he is not a great ref.

Feel sick for Wexford but only themselves to blame. It's a real pity the late chance fell to the wrong man, Jacob or McDonald would have split the posts.

Wexford should be hanging their heads in shame, but Clare being restored to 15 for extra time is the stupidest rule in the history of sport tbh

If it wasn't a qualifier there would be no extra time so clare would be punished twice.

I think it's fair enough allowing five subs to be brought on but allowing a team to be brought back up to 15 is ridiculous imo.

I can see the logic behind it though and I agree with it personally, definately not just saying it because ot suits today. I can see why others would disagree though and thats fair enough :)

Playing with 2 extra men for nearly 1/3 of the game and still can't manage. Christ

    I know yea.. useless!!

Oh yeah no problem with either one, although he tried his best to chicken out of the second one

Wexford will run out of legs - under 21 games etc

Any inter-county forward should have scored that.

Liam Og McGovern was class tbf to him, hamstrung by playing with other brain-dead forwards. And Liam Dunne's on-the-feet thinking... so bad, pulling everybody back into defence and hitting the ball long isn't a good plan when you have 2 extra men.

Sent out completely the wrong message too.

If this is a draw after ET, what happens then?

No I didn't like the way the linesman got involved. When Clare got the first red the Wexford player was clearly holding him. I didn't see the linesman mention that

Were you waiting until extra time to post ?

If anything the ref gave soft frees to Clare.

Wexford have done their best not to win.

Ref's back without a ball. Good man yerself.

If a match goes into extra time it is considered the same game in any sport. Clare should still be playing with 13 men.

If the GAA really consider it a new game why is it not considered so in the statistics? The players wont have any extra number added to their Championship match stats and in head to head it is also considered one match.

Don't worry there wont be a draw. Clare are going to get going properly now.

Whether he was holding him or not it was still a red. Can't believe people can't make up their own opinion without bias.

He had a ball, threw it back

If we do pull through we'll have the same problem with U21 midweek as well, tough schedule for the younger guys.

No I just came onto boards five minutes ago and posted immediately. And obviously I wouldn't be able to tell straight away in a game would I?

I've never quite understood what the phrase Constipated Hurling meant until today. Wexford were afraid to win

This wasn't constipated hurling from Wexford. Quite the opposite - they seemed to sh1t themselves when the game was theirs to win.

Confirmed: Clare asked at start of extra time if Podge Collins could be played as it was technically a new game. Told they couldn't #GAA

great goal and fair play to wexford for coming out in et and not feeling sorry for themselves

We're all switching over to watch the Tipp-Offaly match right?! :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 124 ✭✭thebannerboy

It was Clare who introduced that cross pitch play that setup that goal.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators Posts: 10,087 Mod ✭✭✭✭marco_polo

If Dunne could somehow get Wexford to play as well all the te as they do when behind they'd be some team

Fantastic goal with an immense switch from Guiney. Should have been a Clare free there before the end for getting taken out by the defender while the keeper swept it up
