Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I hope the Germans stick together, something tells me the Costa Rican stabbings won't be the last we hear of. Absolutely disgusting from the Brazilians every European team has been booed and I hope Germany goes on to win now, although I'd still love to see Netherlands get their 1st but after tonight the Germans deserve it. If I was a German fan I'd be worried about personal safety now.

total overreaction Id imagine most brazilian fans will go up and shake the german fans hands they are an extremely friendly nation . What happens in the favelas in rio and sao paulo now thats a different matter altogether. Add to that the fifa hotel in copacabana

Wish we could find some top German players with Irish grandparents.

Happy to see the back of Brazil , they kicked their way to the semi's with refs turning a blind eye . Good luck to Germany in the final .

RTE scoreboard needing to scroll is absolutely hilarious. The most deserved result in years and years after the nonsense in Brazil's favour this tournament.

Don't ever question Eamo's memory. If he says Pele was 7 then Pele was 7.

I was looking at some of the official films of the old World Cups on BBC2 recently ... that game could be a movie in itself.

    Luiz. Captain. LOL.

Someone said it before the match but a proper defeat could be the wake up call they needed. Scolari will be gone and players will need to be developed because its the lowest ebb of talent for quite some time. People seem to be licking their lips at the sight of a poor Brazil team, but football is always worse for it. The overall lack of skill across all teams in this cup shows a little insight into that.

    I quite enjoyed that.

Brazil are appealing to FIFA that they should get into final on the basis of the traditional playground rule of last goal wins.

That's the kind of game which makes you sort-of-relieved that Ireland didn't qualify.

It would hard to stomach that kind of beating. Harder if you were Brazilian watching the game in Brazil, obviously.

They are usually knowledgeable and patriotic fans. Tonight just had extraordinary circumstances I think. Hard to level anything on a night like tonight.

Uruguay in 1950 was a national disgrace for Brazil. Tonight is up there with that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

very sad night to see brazil beaten like that in their own backyard. Hopefully its a shot in the arm for a return to their footballing roots. I get people wanting them to lose as it hasnt been in anyway pretty. The only thing that will make this worse for them is if argentina go onto win it.

He's melodramatic but I think he means more the game that involves skilful players rather than power and strength.
