Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kicking someone is not a yellow card but Demechilis gets a yellow for that

Yes, I'm serious. How many years did you want him to stay? You'd think he left straight off the treatment table the way you're going on.

And going to another club to win trophies -- what do you think football is about?

And you make it sound as though he was doing Arsenal a massive favour staying those first 6 years. Nobody wanted him because he was constantly injured.

We must have different views on loyalty but the way I see it, Arsenal stuck by him for 6 years where he struggled with injuries. He came good in the end and looked as though he was going to repay them only to jump ship as soon as he became top class.

He could have won trophies at Arsenal, he was the clinical striker they needed at the time although I do blame Wenger for not investing in the squad to persuade him to stay.

Demichailis almost stopped him falling over.

that's a booking, but the fact more Dutchmen aren't in the book first is laughable.

An Argie goal would make it a good game as the dutch might try and play then

Someone might want to tell Van Gaal that, tbh. Though it'd be nice if he brought him to Manchester :p

Janmaat is supposedly joining Newcastle. Knowing our luck he'll get injured.

    Cillesen does a Neuer

the ridiculous thing is, if the Dutch played to get Robben running at the Argie defence, they'd get joy.

His confidence certainly doesn't seem to be dented, as some speculated.

Almost every time De Jong is losing the ball under pressure

    Holland haven't got a midfield

Vlaar has been brilliant this World Cup.

The Dutch are extremely boring. That Argentinian defence is there to be got at big time and the Dutch have the players to exploit that. They seem to have been settling for penalties from the start.

Dealing with Messi very well but he will still end up scoring

Ron Vlaar has been brilliant in this World Cup.

The bigger clubs could do a lot worse.

Both teams seem to have settled for extra time already.

Playing De Jong and 3 CBs really impacts the ability of the Dutch to keep possession. Wijnaldum is better further up and not a great link man. I think someone like Van Der Vaart would have been good for that role as it's somewhere they're really lacking imo.

De Jong doesn't look fully fit, he's usually a lot more solid on the ball

RVP plays with a slight illness and plays poorly - "it's because he's not fully fit"

De Jong plays with a bad injury and plays poorly - "it's because he's rubbish"

    Makes sense

Messi's good yeah, but it remains to be seen if he can do it on a wet, windy Wednesday in Sao Paolo...

On a serious note, this has been a really good game considering the lack of real chances we've had so far.

Nuri, was it you that tipped De Jong 1st player subbed cause he'd only play 60 mins? You were off by about 90 seconds :p

Two Dutch subs already doesn't bode well for them if this heads into extra time
