    Correct

Knowing that the GAA were restricted to 3 non sporting events per year.

Sorry, thats a common misconception. There are 3 non sporting events already pre-licensed every year, so they don't have to go through the whole planning permission stage, event management plans still have to be submitted however. But further events can be held there if a licence is granted.

yes, 3 one direction concerts and 3 garth brooks gigs licenced but didn't go ahead, so the GAA could try for 6 concerts next year, no guarintee they will get the licences though

Are you counting the Man In The Brand New Louis Copeland Suit as a resident? Just wondering.

how are they going to fund their injunction? surely feeding the children if they have them is more important?

Again i will ask you. Do you think the people living there are all broke? I know you won't answer can't but at least others get to see you avoiding the question AGAIN!

This is a myth. The use of the stadium is limited only by non granting of licenses above the three recommended.

Anyone can apply for as many as varied usage as they want, but through the planning offices.

There is a restriction in place in that they have to apply for a licence above a number of events commonly believed to be three. The licences can be rejected as indeed, three of them were.

The right to apply for a licence for additional events cannot be interpreted as a desire on the part of the planning authorities for increased use to take place. Only an option for it to take place if a licence is issued. There is no provision that says the licence has to be issued as a few people have now found out.

I'm counting EVERYONE who has a legitimate reason to contest the licences.

Of course not. In fact, I hear one of them is doing really well for himself.

Has a job as head of planning for the DCC by all accounts.

Exactly - it their own fault.

It's like the Irish Rail employees who have just said they are going on strike due to the company ignoring their agreement with them and implementing pay cuts.
They chose to work there and chose to stay working there - they should have known that their pay could go down.

It's actually liberating and refreshing to support the big guys - isn't it

our boys and girls in irish rail who i have a hell of a lot of respect for are agreeing to pay cuts, however they want management to take pay cuts also and to cut out waste, grow the business, and make irish rail an equal consistant high quality product for the customers

Anti-GAA, GAA members who are tailors and from the north are paying for it

Yeah it did set a precedent ! That no matter what the gaa , Aiken or anyone else says 5 concerts in the trot will never happen at croke park .
    oh they will one day

Where can we watch this Oireachtas meeting with Keegan as the website doesn't seem to have any of the channels working live today?

Well you haven't seen the news this morning.
IR management are tearing up the pay agreements and implementing cuts anyway.
Our boys and girlsin IR need to go elsewhere for a job, they chose to work in IR and chose to stay working there.

It's an identical situation to CP, except Garth brooks hasn't made the IR decision

5 concerts in the one day?
I hope whatever artist it is is very fit. We'll probably need to improve the transport and parking links though.

    Here

The video usually only starts when the proceedings start and Timmy Dooley has his cowboy boots polished and stetson on.

Out of interest, if he were to be sacked/resign today, and DCC say this review can go uncontested, would it be a runner? a long shot yes

No because they would still need to apply for licences again, He won't resign definitely won't be getting sacked.

As much chance (of either sacking or resigning) as it will snow in Dublin today IMO.

Why "objections"? 11 have been proven false out of nearly 400. A 2.5% ineligible rate hardly calls for inverted commas!
Potential benefits to the city? Irrelevant to disruption and safety. As they should be.

Too many people are focusing on the relatively small number of false objections.
Páraic Duffy made much ado about it at the Oireachtas meeting, while ignoring the
fact that most of the objections from residents were genuine. None of the TDs
expressed any concern for the residents - it was all about trying to get the concerts
    back on.

Heard Pat Kenny going apopleptic on his programme this morning, again focusing
on the number of false objections. According to him, Keegan should have reversed
his decision because of that!! He must have received a rake of complimentary
    tickets to the gigs! :(

No, it's too late to start afresh under the Regulations. It seems unlikely that the previous decision can be revised.

so are 400,000 ticket-holders and business owners.

There is no reversing the decision made. However, a new application could hypothetically be granted in due course for a new and different date.
