    Will be moving house shortly. Looking into broadband services. Contacted Sky who told me the location gets 3-5 Mbps and that they use the Eircom infrastructure.

    Does this imply that Eircom can provide this speed only also?

    If eircom are using the same lines as SKY (DSL) that means 3-5mbps is the maximum speed you can get through that line, however if there is E-fibre in your area you could get fibre speeds
