Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm getting a bit fed up of DOB's "wonderfulness" by FG.............

Careful Grey. Some people would label you a conspiracy theorist if you suggested that Fine Gael and Denis O'Brien were in cahoots with each other......

I dozed off before the ad break. 20 mins later I came to and deja vu. What the fúck was going on there? In fairness, they should do that every night. Everything was easier to understand second time round.

Galway tent and budget give away stuff reminds me of the 'the thick of it' where they hold an inquiry about govt leaks. They're all feeling awkward criticizing something that's politics as normal

Quite odd that the victim's family went to the media a whole 33 years later. I wonder if they even contacted Dick Spring himself before phoning that awful radio show.

I think they should seperate the audience in to those who are in political parties and those who are not, give each section an equal amount of time.

There never seems to be many in the audience who are not plugging some political party or other organisation.
So much for the 'people's debate' ?

Yes it's hard to get a fair representation with a party policy being touted every 2nd person.

I suppose it's a bit of a catch 22. I was going to go when Vinny was in my neck of the woods, then I decided against it thinking, 'nah, it'll probably be full with party hacks, ' so I didn't go and sure enough it was full with party hacks.

My fault however for not going, cannot blame the party loyalists for standing up for whatever reasons they have.

We subsidise peat power stations which is crazy.
There are 82 ESB employees in the two State-owned peat stations. This level of employment in the two ESB power plants means that the subsidy for peat works out at around ?500,000 per employee to produce 250 megawatts of power. (This figure includes average annual salaries of ?72,000 a year for workers in the peat stations.)
