Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Yes, but all of Churchill's people also have access to free healthcare, and Churchill's schoolchildren have access to a proper free education system.....

Isn't it a terrible pity that we broke away from Britain? Things would be so much better now.:o

Nope, but we've only merely substituted British rule for German rule. 100 years on from 1916 and not much has changed.

The thing that has not changed is that the Irish are unable to govern themselves. We blame all our ills on someone else. It used to be the British, now it's the Germans or the EU or the Troika. It's time we realised that we are the chief authors of our own misfortunes and do something about it.

This clown does not understand that the farmers have realised that they will be charged for their domestic use on top of their farm usage. Hopefully they will wake up soon.

    Not unusually, an ignorant comment.

For starters a minority of rural dwellers are farmers.

20% of the population pay and have always paid for their own domestic water. It is only equitable, now that the proposals are made, that all domestic users should pay for their water use.

Vincent - the apostle of equity/equality - shows no interest in this argument.

At least the British imperialists weren't shy in showing their contempt towards this country. We were duped into believing that the EU was some sort of benevolent avuncular organisation, but it showed its true colours in 2008.
The truth is, the EU is nothing more than an old boys' club for Germany and France. The Germans control the ECB to benefit their own ends, and the French flout as many EU corporate and competition laws without any fear of censure, and they then had the gall to impose a 2 billion euro fine on the UK recently. If I was a UK citizen, I wouldn't have to think twice about voting to get out of the EU as soon as Cameron calls a referendum on the future of the UK's membership of a stinking rotten institution.

The reason that the Irish state has failed to survive, because it was never cleansed of the corrupt english establishment, that was maintained and used by Cosgrave and all the corrupt politicians, that turned to their enemy to defeat their comrades for personal gain. This country is a shít house and not the country the men and women that died trying to achieve.

That mayor is a joke, we all knew water charges were going to be introduced. He acts as if he didn't know.
He is worried about his political future.

Why does Lacey get on the show so often? He's a gobsh1te councillor, no better, and possibly no worse, than other gobsh1te councillors.

It really is true in this country the Government couldn't organise a piddle up in a brewery...

The whole Irish Water debacle has been a sham.

    Pathetic.

Vinny like to have feeble panelists on that he can harangue without any chance of them telling him to f**k off. If they do they don't get asked back, (remember Fionnan).

  • Registered Users Posts: 49,731 ✭✭✭✭coolhull

Lacey ''happens to believe that people should pay for water''
Why didn't he (and his party) ''happen to believe'' that before the last General Election

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,003 ✭✭✭Busted Flat.

Dermot Lacey is trying to say that he is a hero.

The clown says the bonuses's should be halted, till when, till the heat dies down. If the clown has any respect for the people he would say the bonus system should be abolished. But then he is part of a corrupt regime.

Talking about depression, the rosary is a good meditative prayer for the mind.
There I said it, even if people disagree.

10 years time there will probably be marked water in the north to stop people smuggling it across the border to ourselves.
