    It just seems to be wildly inconsistent with his normally rational view of things then again maybe I don't watch him enough.

    I don't think he was trying to justify it..I think he was trying to highlight the fact that Americans and the British have killed thousands over the years and very little is said about it, regardless of their motivation.

    He might be coming across as a bit brazen about it, but his point about the bombing of the Middle East by America and Britain is an important one.
