Where abouts is the parking for tomorrow?

Signed in today. Parking very well signposted. There is a big feld for parking. When you park up you don't need to go back out on the road. There is a track you can follow (wheeling bike) that brings you out at Trimcastle Hotel. Seems very well organised.

There's 3 of us heading up in the morning for the 100km , was hoping to arrange with a few from here to group up if doing the same speed. Since this dosent look like happening do you think others would mind us dropping into their groups provided we take the front at times for them and don't just use them for a wind breaker?

People will join various groups. Don't think anyone minds once you do a bit of work at some stage.

Somewhere around 3000 the last few years. I don't think the numbers are limited, just that there's a deadline for registration

An Post 160km. All done in 5 hours 7 mins. Friend took a piss at exactly the wrong time with 40km to go and missed a road train of about 30 cyclists.

The two of us manage to catch up after a painful 10k and joined them with 30km left to the finish.

Did the 100Km first time doing such an event. Just started cycling in April really enjoyed it. Thought it was very well organised, would most events be of similar standard.

Didn't think it was that bad, though we were warning each other of hazaerds. Didn't see a lot of that til we caught up to some dunboyne pedal pushers and a few others who were doing the same.

Saw some girl get her wheel pretty much wrecked after 5k, wonder if she ,made it

There was one section which I would have described as an "ocean of gravel"... I don't know how I stayed upright. Overall the roads were ok, some decent fast stretches.

I think the roads for the climbs were a little too bunched, might have done with holding them back to about halfway in the ride.

did the 100k and very happy with the route. a few bumpy patches but on a whole very good. it was great to see all the different cycling jerseys from previous events, I.m sure a substantial amount of money was made for good causes on the the back of those cycles

Same as last year, way too many potholes 😞
Still can't get over the fact food stop was 83 km in (on 100 km route) which makes no sense!!!
Last year's route was much better.
Plus points for marshaling, signs and food quality at the stop.
Jersey looks nice and quality seems good too.

Ay, letting everyone off in groups at the first Hill like last year would have been better.

And the food stop 17km from the end.... Can't understand that one!

    Did the 160K today.

I enjoyed it, but I thought the 1st 100K was very tough. I wasn't expecting so many climbs. Some of the roads were quite narrow and it was unfortunate, that the road around Moynalty was so rough. Most of the potholes were marked. The route was very well signposted and the distance markers were great.
The food was great, pasta is a great idea and the sandwiches were lovely, and fresh.
Marshalling was spot on, for the most part.
Finish area, as usual, was fantastic, great buzz about the place.
I did it with with 10 others, we averaged 30.5 kph.
All in all, a great day.
    Well done to the organisers.
In my opinion, one of the better sportives.

It was tough with more climbs than I expected - 5 category 4s and a few other non-categorized.

Last 60 was ok but I had very little left in the tank.

Cheers to Trim CC for the train ride back in to the finish for the last 20km,
Last 17km were done in 32mins.

Some going at the end of a 160 spin.

Did my first 100km today, 4hr30min so happy enough. Thanks for John from here for joining us for the spin.
Taught the event was ran excellently, found the few big hills tough but got through them.

Met another boardsie in the pink jersey outside the Trim castle hotel - he was doing the 50km so nice to chat you.

Did 106km to warm up yesterday and rode out to Trim this morning for the 100km and back so another 47km on top of that. Only back cycling since the start of May so happy with 28kmph average for the lot

Tough course but got over everything handy enough, all my food kicked in around slane so was flying then which was just as well as it was very draggy from there.

    Well organised and marshalled

100k. A nice day doing this event, organisation very good. Some of the narrow channels for climbs were hair raising as some cyclists stalled or hopped off. Great route. Cycled solo for a lot of it, should have been braver and gatecrashed a group. But hey.

You should definitely crash a group next time, once you give a dig out at the front no one minds if someone joins.

Joined the Ratoath Wheelers train which made the final run home into the wind a piece of cake. Did at least 2 mins at the front!

an enjoyable day in the saddle

i did the 100km at around 25 km/h so happy enough with the time ,

about the event , i was impressed with some parts of it organisation wise but was baffled with the route at times , it seem to have a lot of road with bad surface and noticed a lot of punctures along the route
they should have done all the gravel on the junctions with a roadsweeper as it was dangerous at times ,

food stop was a bit late so i was glad i ate along the way , in saying that the pasta was delicious and welcome

all in all a good day

I did this a couple of years ago and to be honest, the sh*te roads were kind of part of the fun for me, certainly added to the challenge. Not an event to be done on the 'good' bike I think...

Did the 160k in Sub 5hrs, ended up off the front with the McCrystal and co on the tandem at the start. The Tandem sure covers ground fast on the flats, so by the time we got to Cormeen I had a lot taken out of me! Let them off up the road for the last 60k and ambled in the rest of it.

We did take a wrong turn at the foot of Tara and ended up back in the bunch for the climb at Tara Hill..

Some good climbs and good speeds.

Food was fantastic and badly needed at the 100k point. Great atmosphere at the end and I got in the queue early for the physio who incidentally recommended me to go stand in the river for ten minutes to ease the aches in the legs. I declined that advice!

Was heading over to the 100K in the car when people went awry, I think people thought I was being rude when I started beeping and waving :)

I was one of those wheelers. Alas I was probably sucking your wheel as I was hanging in for dear life. My clubmates need a good talking to. Once I get me breath back
