Cat shot by air rifle had to be put down

Saw this in the Indo today & despite the ridiculously emotive first photo I thought it needed mentioning.
Cat was shot by an air rifle pellets which were strong enough to break skin & damage spine.
Awful way for any family pet to go.

I actually know this family personally and tom, he was a big softie who wouldn't hurt a fly. Tom was a rescue cat. The "wake" picture you are referring to is nothing new for the family, all the pets/rescues that pass away are given the same respect in the household. The guards were very unhelpful unfortunately. Hopefully owners will now keep an eye on their pets constantly and irresponsible parents won't buy their children these pellet guns.
