What are the best options to have ticked when doing a ABM (Auto bouteq) scan.

What would be the best way to get all channels back "(ungreyed)" and get rid of duplicate channels. When I do a auto scan on tunner it pulls in about 700 + channels! Is there something I should be doing differently to only get working channels etc?

Once again, are you using Autobouquets, or Auto Bouquet Maker (ABM). They are two different plugins. Autobouquets will create a full sky regionalised (Ireland, Thames UK, etc) Bouquet using sky channel numbering for your region (RTE1 = 101 etc) and will place this bouquet first in your list of bouquets, or Favourites. The RTE1 in this case will be RTE1 from Astra, not terrestrial. Autobouquets will rescan to get the correct TPs for greyed or missing channels, and these will appear in the new bouquet it creates, but not in your own custom bouquets. If you have scanned with clear before scan, old invalid TPs will disappear off the service list, and bouquet entries for these will be inactive and grey. You can't 'get these back' as such. You must clear out these entries yourself using the bouquet editor in WebIf or using Dreanbox Editor. Then you can find the working versions of them in the service list and drop them back in.
After using Autobouquets, most people restore their own custom bouquet to the top of the list, because it has the terrestrial channels in it. This allows you to have button '1' on the remote equal to RTE 1, say. You can cut and paste chunks of the newly made sky bouquet to you own, and eliminate the dead channels manually.
I can't comment on Auto Bouquet Maker because I haven't loaded or used it.

Lads,

Any idea how to resolve EMC trashcan issue I'm having on OATV. On boot up I get message saying trashcan clean up failed. I've checked THE TRASHCAN LATH, seems fine. When I delete objects they go into the trashcan folder which is viewable In EMC.

I have it set to delete every 3 days, it's trying to do this but can't, for some reason.

Any ideas?

Ok, So I deleted all the dead channels in each bouquet.

When you say you can find the working version in the service list" where is the service your talking about? Is it the service list in dreamedit or on the AA2?

Would anyone have a custom bouquet they would be willing to share that I could use as a starting point? Something that looks similar to Sky layout?

thanks again for all the help.

I am also having trouble mounting an external HDD.

I had been using a 16GB USB stick, from which I installed my Hyperion 4.5 image. Everything has been running fine, all bouquets customized, CrossEPG working fine and able to record on to the stick.

I want to upgrade to a 500GB USB external HDD - how do I do this? I thought I might just be able to unplug the 16GB stick, plug in the 500GB HDD, reboot and format it from within the image, but that didn't work. The image got messed up so now I am having to re-install the whole lot again (at least I have my bouquets backed up with DreamboxEdit).

So what is the procedure to change from the USB stick for initial set-up to formatting and using an external HDD (plugged into the rear port)? Any help will be much appreciated (I wish there was a Wiki for this box).

Service list is the left hand pane of either dreambox edit or bouquet editor on Webif. It is populated each time you do a scan if the channel didn't previously exist on it. If you clear before scan the channels on each tp scanned are deleted then replaced with whatever is currently on that tp. Greyed out channels in bouquets are channels which no longer have valid tuning data, you can't 'get them back', you delete and replace with the up to date ones from the service list. For the sat channels, the bouquet 'last scanned' when you do a full rescan is equivalent to that satellite's entry in the service list, (some users tune more than one satellite), and you can transfer from here to your bouquets directly on the box, a laborious process. Db edit is the quickest way to build your bouquets, Webif bouquet editor comes next, directly on the box is strictly for tweaking. Using someone else's channel lists might be more frustrating, especially if you can't see where channels you prefer are stored without trawling through all their bouquets. Terrestrial Channels will be different depending on where you and they live.
Autobouquets will create a full Sky like channel list, numbering included, but without the terrestrial channels integrated into it.

I find ABM better anyways.

Doesn't need to do a scan and is finished in 1 to 1.30 minutes. Even after a flash or on a new box no need for full channel scan or to send bouquets - this does it all quickly in whatever way you want (ROI,NI,UK local areas...)

I set it to scan daily for any changes because it takes so little time.

I was under the impression that ABM or Auto Bouquets Maker wont run on the Sh4 platform ,so it wont work on the Alien 1 or 2.

Hi again!!!,

You must be all sick of me at this astage!:o

I have a NAS that I can access from outside my network using *****.no-ip.org:5000 I just happened to type in the nas address without the port(5000) and it brough me to my webif!!

I had also setup another noip host for the sat box (different name to NAS) and that brings me also to the webif without a port.

I forward 0080, 8001 and 8888 to my AA2 on my lan.

Question:
1. How am I getting to my NAS using the the nas address without a port
2. how am I getting to my webif usinng the noip I setup for the AA2 without a port also?

I can get to webif, can open .m3u file with VLC but it won't play. Firewall issue where I am or something else? See attached file

Bit confused!

Thanks

You have forwarded port 80 to you box, so any outside http request to your outside lan ip or its domain name aliases will be forwarded to the box. Port 80 is the default port no for all http Urls, so this is what's requested when you use the domain name without a port no. There is no need to have two separate domain names for box and Nas, as they both translate to your wan ip, Either will do to reach webif, port no not required, :5000 for your NAS, :8888 for Oscam interface, and 8001 is used for streaming to webif or dreamdroid on a mobile. If you have been able to stream internally, you should be able to do the same using the domain name. If you are actually away from home streaming might be limited due to upload speed. Your router may also need a firewall rule to pass 8001 traffic.

as mentioned I am really liking Hyperion 4.5 due to its smoothness and zapping speed etc, but still having a couple of annoying snags since upgrading, any of you fine folk got any suggestions:

• remote/box has become unresponsive on a couple of occasions now when trying to take it out of standby. Only powering it down resolves.
• a perfectly working/formatted HD that worked on a previous Hyperion version will simply not mount no matter what. Unfortunately it looks like a reformat of the HD might be on the cards which would be a pity.
• Connecting via WAN to WebIf has failed a couple of times with no explanation. Yet I can ping the box etc and only resolution is to Telnet in and reboot ---- this might be related I think to point #1 above.

long shot; anyone seen similar issues and possible fixes?

I have seen the first problem when it has been on standby for long periods the remote wont work anymore until a reboot. I have also had my box get stuck in a boot loop (gets to 100% loaded and then reboots).

I need to upgrade to Zardos latest version from a few weeks ago, my one is the earlier one from 2015.

Thanks for that, had an idea that was the reason. But a bit concerned that I can access webif without a password.

I think I rememeber seeing an option to enable a password to accesss webif, is that correct? Can I set a manual password?

So if I enable this, when i login in remotly what username will I have to use? root?

You turn on authenication in webif configuration. Then when you access webif, it asks for the box username and password. If these are set they are usually root/pkteam, so if you want to feel secure using webif outside the home, you must shange the box password using telnet, directly from a PC or through dreambox Control centre, if you have that installed. the command for changing password is 'passwd' . You will be asked for the existing password only if set, probably 'pkteam', then you wll be asked for the new password and confirmation of the new password. Write it down. Its a pain to have to remove/change a forgotten password from the box. You can just turn on authentication for port 80, no need to turn it on for 8001 (streaming)

That's the Blue HD skin running on Vix on a MIPs box.

It's available on the SH4 images too on plugins feed or if it's not I can send you the IPK file to manually install.

There's another HD skin called Confluence that people like, really crisp and clear(although it's not a similar skin to Sky if that is what you're looking for)

Thats interesting ,I didnt realise that.
I might try to import it over to Hyperion .

ABM allows a custom channel order by editing the CustomLCN.xml file unlike Autobouquets which only has a limited swap option.
So it could be possible to create a personalised channel order and keep it for future scans.

Good to know,might look at that xml file now.

Lavatronics stand over it with their image, AutoBouquets wouldn't work for me on it and they say ABM is tested and 100% with it and they can't say for other third party plugins

For anyone interested in changing the order it's located at /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom

This is the ReadMe file for it to give you an idea, it's pretty much just cutting and pasting to where you want.
Contents:

1) CustomLCN
2) CustomMix
3) Favourites
4) Hacks
5) Provider keys

CustomLCN

CustomLCN allows channels to be moved around within one single provider. CustomLCN is great
for providers that don't transmit logical channel numbers or if you want to move channels
around so they appear at different channel numbers. The CustomLCN list can be complete or
partial. It doesn't have to be in any particular order but having it sequential will make
it easier to avoid making errors.

Each time ABM runs it makes an example CustomLCN xml file for each provider that is scanned,
e.g. 'EXAMPLE_hd_sat_freesat_CustomLCN.xml'. These files are archived in:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom
To make your own custom LCN file just delete 'EXAMPLE_' from the filename,
i.e. hd_sat_freesat_CustomLCN.xml. Configurations in the provider xml file, such as channel swap,
on-top, etc, are done after CustomLCN has been processed.

The following is how to edit the file. Just cut and paste the lines into the order you want.
DO NOT add any channels into more than one place in the list.

Also don't forget to include the ABM custom folder in your backups otherwise your newly
created file may be lost during image updates.

This is an example of the original 'EXAMPLE_" file:
<custom>
<include>yes</include>
<lcnlist>
<configuration lcn="101" channelnumber="101" description="BBC One Lon"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="102" channelnumber="102" description="BBC Two HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="103" channelnumber="103" description="ITV"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="104" channelnumber="104" description="Channel 4"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="105" channelnumber="105" description="Channel 5"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="106" channelnumber="106" description="BBC Three HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="107" channelnumber="107" description="BBC Four HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="108" channelnumber="108" description="BBC One HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="109" channelnumber="109" description="BBC Two Eng"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="110" channelnumber="110" description="BBC ALBA"></configuration>

This is how to swap channels.
If you want to swap ITV (103) with BBC Three HD (106) cut and paste both lines.
<custom>
<include>yes</include>
<lcnlist>
<configuration lcn="101" channelnumber="101" description="BBC One Lon"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="102" channelnumber="102" description="BBC Two HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="106" channelnumber="106" description="BBC Three HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="104" channelnumber="104" description="Channel 4"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="105" channelnumber="105" description="Channel 5"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="103" channelnumber="103" description="ITV"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="107" channelnumber="107" description="BBC Four HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="108" channelnumber="108" description="BBC One HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="109" channelnumber="109" description="BBC Two Eng"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="110" channelnumber="110" description="BBC ALBA"></configuration>

Now change the lcn numbers. lcn numbers should be in order to avoid errors!!
<custom>
<include>yes</include>
<lcnlist>
<configuration lcn="101" channelnumber="101" description="BBC One Lon"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="102" channelnumber="102" description="BBC Two HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="103" channelnumber="106" description="BBC Three HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="104" channelnumber="104" description="Channel 4"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="105" channelnumber="105" description="Channel 5"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="106" channelnumber="103" description="ITV"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="107" channelnumber="107" description="BBC Four HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="108" channelnumber="108" description="BBC One HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="109" channelnumber="109" description="BBC Two Eng"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="110" channelnumber="110" description="BBC ALBA"></configuration>

Removing channels.
Channel removal only applies to unsorted lists, i.e. non-LCN providers where the list has not been
sorted in any way. To remove a channel, just delete the line. NOTE: When <include>is set to 'yes',
all channels not configured in the custom xml will be added at the end of the main bouquet. This way
also new services from the provider will be added at the end of the channel list. Any new channels
will be shown in the ABM log.

Changing 'channel numbers'.
If you wants your own numbering, edit the lcn numbers. lcn numbers should be in order to avoid errors!!
<custom>
<include>no</include>
<lcnlist>
<configuration lcn="1" channelnumber="101" description="BBC One Lon"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="2" channelnumber="102" description="BBC Two HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="3" channelnumber="103" description="ITV"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="4" channelnumber="104" description="Channel 4"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="5" channelnumber="105" description="Channel 5"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="6" channelnumber="106" description="BBC Three HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="7" channelnumber="107" description="BBC Four HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="8" channelnumber="108" description="BBC One HD"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="9" channelnumber="109" description="BBC Two Eng"></configuration>
<configuration lcn="10" channelnumber="110" description="BBC ALBA"></configuration>

NOTE: Be aware of correct sections in the provider xml.
e.g.
<sections>

Entertainment

News and Sport

Movies

Lifestyle

Music

Children

Special Interest

Shopping

Adult

Regional

</sections>

Your lcn numbering should match sections. In this example you can add a custom section.
<sections>

Custom list

Entertainment

News and Sport

CustomMix

CustomMiX allows tv channels from one provider to be added to the bouquets of another provider.
This is great if you mainly use one provider but want to add a few channels from other providers
but don't want to create a complete list for the other provider. All providers that you want to
receive channels from must be included in every ABM scan but if you don't want complete bouquets
from that provider just set all the bouquet creation options to no.

For each provider you wish to add channels to you need to add an xml configuration file. The xml
configuration files reside in /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom
and filenames are made up as follows... "provider_key_CustomMix.xml", e.g. for Sky UK the filename
would be "sat_282_sky_uk_CustomMix.xml". For other providers please consult the list of provider
keys below.

This is an example xml configuration file for Sky UK. Filename as above.

<custommix>
<inserts>
<insert provider="cable_uk_virgin" source="150" target="171"></insert>
<insert provider="cable_uk_virgin" source="110" target="106"></insert>
</inserts>
<deletes>
<delete target="170"></delete>
</deletes>
</custommix>

The "insert" lines are what do the work but all the tags must be present. The "insert" line has 3
attributes, "provider", "source", and "target". "provider" is the key of provider from which the
channel is being imported. See below for a list of provider keys. "source" is the channel number
being imported. And "target" is the slot in the Sky UK bouquet into which that channel will be
inserted. Each channel that is to be moved requires an "insert" line.

"Delete" lines allow you to remove individual channels from the provider you are customising. Just
set "target" to the number of the channel you want to remove and it will disappear on the next scan.

Favourites

Favourites allows the creation of a complete favourites list that will preceed all other ABM bouquets.
Please note, favourites lists are static. ABM will keep your favourites list up to date if there are
changes to service references and transponder parameters but obviously it is not going to be updated
if new channels start broadcasting, so any new channels you want in the list must be added manually.

Channels selected for the favourites list can come from any providers that are being scanned, and these
providers must be scanned on every ABM run. The filename of the configuration file is:
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/SystemPlugins/AutoBouquetsMaker/custom/favourites.xml

Here is an example favourites.xml file.

<favourites>

<sections>

Entertainment

Movies

Music

Sports

News

Documentaries

Kids

Other

</sections>
<inserts>
<insert provider="sat_282_sky_uk" source="105" target="105"></insert>
<insert provider="sat_282_sky_uk" source="106" target="206"></insert>
</inserts>
<bouquets>

1

<sections>1</sections>
</bouquets>
</favourites>

"name" is the prefix of you favourites bouquets if you have "prefix" enabled in the ABM menu. "sections"
is used for writing the section markers to your bouquets. You must have at least one section, and only
channels with a greater channel number than the first section number will be added to your favourites
bouquets. The "insert" lines have 3 attributes, "provider", "source", and "target". "provider" is the
key of provider from which the channel is being imported. See below for a list of provider keys. "source"
is the channel number being imported. And "target" is the slot in the favourites into which that channel
will be inserted. Each channel that is to be moved requires an "insert" line.
"main" has a value of 0 or 1. "0" means no main bouquet will be created and "1" that one will. Same for
"sections". If "bouquets" -> "sections" is enabled the favourites list will be divided up into sections
bouquets as per the section numbers above. All tags in the above example a necessary to get this working.

Hacks

"Hacks" is available in "Favourites" and "CustomMix". "Hacks" allows Python code to be use to
modify the channel list and sections markers, sort channels by name, make a "+1" bouquet, etc, etc,
and that this can be done dynamically rather than just creating static lists. With "Hacks" the sky
really is the limit in what bouquets can be created by ABM. Here's how "Hacks" looks in a CustomMix
file.

<custommix>
<hacks>

# Python code here

</hacks>
</custommix>

"Hacks" is provided for those with the ability to use it and there will only be basic support
for this feature.

Cheers man, if you could send me those skins that would be great. Where did you get the confluence?

BobbyT28

http://www.filedropper.com/enigma2-plugin-skin-blue-hd-rossi2000-v326062014all

This is the latest and last version for it as rossi has said he is focusing on other HD skins and not doing this anymore.

Confluence I got straight from the plugins feed - don't have an ipk file but will have a look around for it another time.

I'm just coping and pasting, but report back if the following helps

Crossepg seems to be one of the main sources of issues with these systems. I've had a similar problems. The belt and braces way to sort it is (I have found):
1. Delete the crossepg folder
2. Delete the epg.dat file separate to the crossepg folder
3. Uninstall the crossepg plugin
4. Ftp in updated satellite.xml file
5. Reboot
6. Rescan your sat channels (do not clear )
7. Download and install the crossepg plugin.
8. Reboot
9. Configure to use hdd, and astra 28.2

Not all the steps are needed, but as I said, its a belt and braces approach that works for me.
ok again tried tried to reintall using the above.worked the last time but not now so reinstalled the image and repeated the steps and format drive but still not work.i think its the plugin thats the problem now.what else can i try
