Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    What is NVDACon?

NVDACon, is a venue to allow NVDA users and developers to discuss latest developments in NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access), as well as learn more about various aspects of NVDA such as code development. This conference also provides a forum for users to meet and discuss suggestions, bug reports and so on about NVDA.

NvDACon began in 2014 when a number of users expressed an interest in hosting an audio chat for NVDA users. This led to the organization of the first NVDACon in March 2014 where current developments in NvDA and add-on development was discussed.

If you are a user of NVDA, an NVDA code contributor, add-on developer or other user or developer interested in NVDA screen reader, you are welcome to join the conference.

All sessions are held at the NVDA Conference Center channel unless otherwise noted.

    What is NVDA

NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) is a free “screen reader” which enables blind and vision impaired people to use computers. It reads the text on the screen in a computerised voice. You can control what is read to you by moving the cursor to the relevant area of text with a mouse or the arrows on your keyboard.

Normally screen readers are expensive, making them unaffordable for many blind people. NVDA is free. It’s been downloaded 70,000+ times, in 43 languages.

NVDA can also convert the text into braille if the computer user owns a device called a “braille display”.

NVDA provides the key to education and employment for many blind people. It also provides access to social networking, online shopping, banking and news.

I think that this would be good for a few people to attend, to contribute to this project.
