Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Laughable post really. So easy to say that.

So you thought it was a good free kick then?

Messi completely anonymous yet again, poor tournament for a player of his talent. Only so much Macherano and Zabaleta can do to carry an overall poor team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,592 ✭✭✭brevity

Messi's freekick was so stupid...very disappointing by him. Feel bad for the Argentinians thought the had a good tournament...gutted for Masch especially.

Messi wasn't 100% fit? How am I only hearing about this now?

Germany deserved it, best team in the tournament.
And brilliant game tonight, had loads of attacking, great defending and was end to end.

What is this nonsense? The newb I can understand, but aren't you here long enough to understand the concept of a different opinion? So I'm prescribing a quick bottle of cop on stat, to restore your sense.

Germany well deserved winners. Messi Really should have crossed that ball in at the end instead of going for glory against the best 'keeper around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 38,981 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

All was good and I was happy for Germany until they showed that ****ing Angela Merkel and then suddenly I was sad that they won. Why did they have to show her celebrating and being congratulated. This is sport, they shouldn't be ruining it for people by showing politicians.

    Sssssh now.

He's silenced all the critics now. Did the business at a World Cup, proven his quality universally. No reasonable person could doubt his greatness now.

    That's it, all over.

Can someone kick out those who don't have proper access to the Soccer Forum now?

    Thanks :D

A worthy final over all I thought, a great goal to decide it too. Glad it didn't go to penalties.

    Schurrle was the difference.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,837 ✭✭✭abelard

As a Chelsea fan, delighted for Schurrle.

Also very happy for the likes of Schweinsteiger and Klose to cap off fantstic international careers

Aguero cryins, suffering jesus, leave it all out on the pitch did ya sergio:rolleyes:

A very enjoyable game, I was rooting for Argentina but full credit to Germany. For me, it was a game either team deserved to win

Gilles saying messi was tired, feck off john, he's a professional athlete, you don't get tired by playing for 90 minutes every 4 days, it's nauseating the excuses that get trotted out for footballers

  • Registered Users Posts: 503 ✭✭✭Kat97

Gutted. Really wanted Argentina to win :( Germany did play better in extra time though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,887 ✭✭✭✭klose

    Schurrle was the difference.

Cross aside thought his impact on the game was minimal

    Schurrle you can't be serious?

I am serious and don't call me Schurrle.

Best team over the tournament won but tonight was debatable, but big players take their chances....Palacio and Higuain will be mortified.

Decent match overall, delighted for Lahm...would love him to win the Ballon D'Or now, terrific player

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,312 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Dunphy really hates Germany and Bayern taking over from Barca and Spain. I much prefer watching Germany playing than spains poxy tiki taka.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,592 ✭✭✭brevity

I am happy for Schweinsteiger and Lahm though. Two greats of the game imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

Messi's ego wouldn't let him cross that at the end, it was him getting the equaliser or nobody

    Congratulations to Germany, worthy winners

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Germany win the world cup 5 minutes ago and Dunphy doesn't think they can dominate world football!

    The best team won.
Well done you Gunners Ozil, Mert and Pod.

Well done to the German team for carrying Ozil, Mert and Pod.. :pac:

Trap sitting at home gesticulating "see I bloody told you they were good".

Congrats to Germany, set the tone with the Portugal thumping.

That Messi free kick summed his performance selfish and self indulgent.

Very enjoyable end to an excellent World Cup.

Farewell non-soccer forum members, we have to get back to our tribalistic point scoring now.

Gilles saying messi was tired, feck off john, he's a professional athlete, you don't get tired by playing for 90 minutes every 4 days, it's nauseating the excuses that get trotted out for footballers

To be fair you might be tired if you played 120 minutes every four days

Anyone else thinking that Romereo should have saved Gotzes volley ? Looked to me like he dived out of the way of it, if he had of just stood up the shot wasn't good enough to beat him

How can he be tired when he doesn't run anymore?

His lack of fight these days is very unlike him.

Argentina were out on their feet by the end.

RTE saying that Germany won't dominate world football in the same way Spain did....I don't agree, they are a superb team.

I was hoping for an Argentina win, but Germany definitely deserved it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 26 Cmack

Delighted for Klose. What a legend.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

Delighted for Germany been the best team in this tournament and great to watch and scored a great goal to win it.

It was a bad free kick. Post is valid.

Context. Massive pressure on his shoulders, World Cup Final, too far out. How many players could realistically nail that kick, regardless of his huge talent?

It's so easy for armchair fans to make such a rash post.
