Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Would RTE not be better showing what's going on rather than having the panel waffling?

That's bulls*it. Fan vote for the final still? Boateng robbed of the final MOTM.

No idea Oats, I think so. Ever since many of the books pulled the market, but for the odd game, I have not really followed it. I was sure it was only awarded for regulation time too.

Are we gonna get to see the presentation? Or more waffling about Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,546 ✭✭✭✭murpho999

We didn't qualify so all this talk is hearsay.

They should be talking about what we just saw and how great the world cup was.

    This talk is for September.

Picking holes in the German team minutes after winning the final and claiming Ireland could have done really well at this world cup.
The boys have lost the plot

BBC have been showing the pitch the whole time.

Don't get this anti-Ozil tripe at all. He's created two clear cut chances tonight, and more chances than any other German player at the world cup. What do people want?

He has been ****e since he left madrid tbf

Seriously tho, the lads still talking about attitude, application, heart, fight etc. etc. Those qualities are more or less irrelevant today.

Giles talking up our performances v Sweden & Austria. Took 2 points from 12 in those games, home and away.

I've loved RTE during the World Cup but they should be showng the presentations.

The south american countries are finished as footballing powers according to the panel. I remember after the 2002 world cup they said the same about Europe; too rich, not enough young people playing...

    Eamo is deluded....sadly.
    "we lack a structure"

"so? we have lots of players playing in England!"

"but not at the big clubs... "

"so? The USA had six players in MLS. Robbie Keane plays there"

Just what Eamon, is your point exactly?

Brady picking him to pieces here, because his argument is resembling Swiss cheese.

Said we could have got as far as costa rica, and they only went out on penos, so we could have won that...
Because we drew with costa rica in a friendly.

Going on about Kevin Doyle now, dunphy thinks doyle averages a goal a game

Was looking at some players Wikipedia pages to get more info on them and found this on Götze? :P Just refreshed the page and it has now been deleted lol :P

"After scoring the game winning goal in the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final, Götze set a world record by bedding over 100 women the night of the victory."

And that he played tonnes and tonnes of games in the season. He played 46, only three more than Schurrle and less than probably most of the German squad.

I am also hearing he wasn't fit for the WC, and hearing it for the first time. Funny that.

Nothing against Messi he IS one of the best ever, but this is what I was talking about before the match about excuses being made for him and kiddie gloves being used on him, whereas others get held to a far higher standard. The same for his indifference late in the match, that awful free kick at the end, and literally walking away from the team talk at half time of extra time. There a re a number of players who would get absolutely slated for that since "you would never see Messi doing that!" and yet when he does, it gets completely glossed over and ignored.

totally agree the team talk walk away was crazy and numerous times on the pitch he never even bothered to chase backor even challenge .. think back to when Portugal got knocked out Ronaldo slated by the pundits and he has played as many games as messi and was carrying injuries .. even better they just said during presentation messi got player of the tournament  bit of a joke that

According to Arsenal fans it was because of Ramsey being injured that they were impotent...and then Walcott....and then....
