Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Definite goal if Messi connected there.

Yeah, it's almost like the manger doesn't know what he's doing.

He's not a good all around goalie, but Romero has been a very solid shot stopper on this tournament.

For a 0-0 and a final, this is a great game.

Messi has absolutely no interest in tackling or even trying to win the ball back.

He's not doing badly for a guy who only played a handful of games last season

I do like Derm and the should get him in more regularly right after the WC, but this isn't the game to bring in a guy who just went 22 a few weeks ago and only had a single international cap.

This is about 100% better than I thought it would be ...

    39 minutes gone already.

    This half is flying by.

    Good final this.

5 mins til half time. Absolutely flown by. Best WC final ever?

Bit of a shay given about him.

Yeah, the same manager who persisted with Lahm at CM for the past year.

    Rolleyes.

I'm a big Messi fan, but I finally think his ego is hampering his play

Argies should be two up now.

    Swap Lahm onto Messi maybe?

Just glad Howard Webb isn't the ref this year.

Durm should have been given a chance at LB well before Howedes did.

Fair enough he's not doing it in this game but he was a one man army in the group stage

Good man the ref trying to keep things flowing and calming things down rather then reaching for the cards

He just doesn't understand the DM role he's been selected to play.

Messi killing Hummels out there, and I thought he would be a lot more solid than Mertesacker.

Argentina defence dealing with everything so far. Looking solid at the back.

First game he scored, but probably the worst Messi performance I've ever seen, he was woeful.

    Decent chance for Kroos

Did Hamilton just say this is only the first Italian to ref a final since Collina in 02? How often does he think Italians should be given the final? Theres only been 2 between then and now and Italy were in one of them.

I can't believe Dunphy was rubbishing them so much.

If there is going to be a goal for Germany, it's odds on it's going to come down the right flank through Lahm.

The Argies really need to stop Lahm consistently getting in forward positions. It will cost them.

I think he's having a great game. Far better than in the semi-final anyway.

FFS, feels like the Germans don't want to score...

Germany starting to look a bit dangerous as this first half draws to a close, but the Argentines easily win it on points so far. Just need goals.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,222 ✭✭✭✭Will I Amnt

What a chance!! Should have buried it.

Hummells needs to take that parachute of his back at half time.
