Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I wouldn't be too worried about Monaco or Roma either to be honest , Monaco ave Falcao and thats it , Roma......well there from Serie A and unless you're Juventus you're **** lol

Yeah... Roma have a scary team this year!!

We've won in Dortmund but never in Olympiakos from what i recall. Galatasaray will be a stern test though especially with the vocal Turkish fans.

we used to play Olympiacos in the last gameweek, having qualified already first.

Definitely a lot of overlap, off the top of my head, Olympiakos, Marseilles and Bayern twice in last 3 years and now Dortmund 3 times I think!

Yeah get a nice one from the 4th pot and it's not a bad draw. Mad that we got Dortmund again though.

I reckon either way though that its a really tough away trip regardless of when you play them. They could have knocked United out last season.

The third strip will definitely get an outing against Galatasaray.

How did Liverpool end up with an easier group?

Luck of the draw, the rating system is flawed but it keeps the really big teams away from each other, but Pot 2 down is Pot luck

Happy days, happy enough with that. I think all English clubs apart from City will be happy enough, real group of death that.

Last pot was kind to us decent group tough but very winnable certainly should get out at the least

A pounding by Real Madrid can do a lot of damage to your confidence!

grand draw, not easy, not impossible.

  • Registered Users Posts: 305 ✭✭Ajfunky

Citys group is definitely the group of death. Glad its not us!

They'll still qualify handy enough and with them in knock out football, well you know the rest.

Happy with our group so that's all that really matters.

What like the FA cup last year?:pac:

Tough group. Dortmund and Galatasary away will be very difficult. We should progress and hopefully we can top the group this time.

Liverpool and Chelsea got very good groups, especially Chelsea. City have a tough one.

Turkey is not that hard a place to go to these days.
    Besiktas are better than Gala.

Not sure is it that easy. Reigning European Champions for one. Are Basel really not as good as Galatasaray? They won at Stamford Bridge last season. Ludogorets though they should dispose of easily although i think they would prefer they didnt have the long haul to Eastern Europe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,012 ✭✭✭✭Alfred Borden

Dortmund away first game would be a nice one to get rid of.

I think a nice home game to start with and put whoever our opponents are to the sword (hopefully)

Personally I think Basel and that other team are easier than galatasary and Anderlecht.

    Anyway still happy with it.

Not too bad not great either but a group we should qualify from.

True, but the that group is a 3 way battle, I see all 4 teams in our group getting points from each other. This could be more advantageous to us. If Anderlecht and the the Turks take points from each other then we could qualify earlier and take the pressure off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,483 ✭✭✭brianregan09

I think Galatasary will beat Dortmund at home and I think they could be the team to take 2nd and not Dortmund can't see us not qualifying

Will Dortmund sell us that Greek defender now we are in their group?

Dortmund away is the first game with the trip to Turkey coming last. Anderlecht is the two games back to back. Couldnt ask for a better set of fixtures. Hopefully its wrapped up before we go to turkey

    I think you'd be right.
Fifth game home vs Dortmund, a victory there would probably seal the deal.
