Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And what's the cause of the players not playing to their apparent potential?

I said it earlier we haven't improved our first 11.

Take Sanchez off, great for his confidence at his new club Wenger.

What's with wengers tactical decisions lately. They've regressed, if that was even possible.

Ugh, Giroud in my FF team. Second week in a row he comes on from the bench. A hat trick please.

thats a strange call by Wenger, why not leave the two of them on? there are far worse players still on the park

Ozil still on the wing doing nothing.

    He isn't a winger.

And has been happening for a decade at this stage. What constant has there been in that time?

Cesc showing that he is far from what we need

We didn't need Ozil or Alexis either to be fair.

Luxury players as much as Cesc.

This team has needed a strong, tall, central midfielder who can tackle and a pacy, mobile, 6 foot or so striker for years.

    Wenger will never learn tactically.

    Doesn't matter who we buy!

He was good for Germany out left.

Mourinho's right, we are easy to play against. Nothing changes with this team and Wenger, outdone against good teams more often than not

The manager can't get the full potential out of his players anymore. It pretty clear for years now. The fa cup was papering over the cracks.

Jack showing his immaturity again with that reckless challenge. Wenger's insistence on accommodating him is proving detrimental to the team.

He had periods where he was poor for Germany and then would do something brilliant, its only a matter of time before he gets involved.

Wilshere could end up being sent off so should be substituted.

It's so depressing watching Wilshere play like this when you really want him to succeed. He has been one of my favourite players for years but this is bordering on indefensible.

There are better tacticians on this thread.

    Honestly believe that,

Posters calling for Wilshere to come off and Giroud on are more clued in than Arsene.

    It's shocking really.

Losing that FA Cup would have better for us long term.

Arsenal could really do with somebody like Chieck Tiote in their midfield. Far too bloody weak. Infuriating to watch.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

Have we had a shot on target yet...??

Really disappointed in Ramsey of all the players.

remember when our biggest complaint was that we tried to pass the ball into the back of the net? God how miss those days now..............

Really really disjointed performance from Arsenal so far. Overall, it feels this team has taken a step or two backwards since last season.

I don't like Ramsey as the highest of the midfield three, his passing isn't incisive enough, and Wenger learned that already. Ozil would be far more effective for his if he were moved in there, and putting a hard runner like Ox/Sanchez in the wide areas would have given Monreal much better protection for the goals.

On that note, it was Wilshere Wenger should have taken off and not Sanchez. We're getting a lot of space in the wide areas that we aren't exploiting due to our narrowness, having Sanchez on the wings would have opened the game up for us and kept one of Baines/Coleman pegged back and ultimately prevented the first goal.

Oh and Per should not be on the left side of the CB pairing, he's getting sucked too high up the field and the distance between him and Chambers is way to high at times. This was evident in both goals I felt.

Even the Dutch commentator I have on is talking about how Debuchy came from Newcastle as he's crossing the ball in. No danger or worries for the opposition.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,428 ✭✭✭.jacksparrow.

That's 2 chances, 3 more and he will score.

Unless Wenger signs 3 top players we are screwed this season.

Should be set up more like a 4-3-3 with the midfield 3 fairly tight but whoever is on Ozil's side being tasked with getting a bit wider when we don't have the ball.

Counter-attack, running in space with the ball, nah, play a slow pass so the opposition get 7 behind the ball. The ****?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,456 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Wilshere gives the ball away far too often.

Wenger mustn't rate Campbell at all.

Wholeheartedly agree. Keeping Evertons fullbacks pegged back in their own half is the best approach against, their midfield simply aren't dynamic enough to open up space without them and they start lumping the ball long.

As much as I like Everton and the way they play, we really should be beating a team like this easily. With new arrivals and the German's missing the preseason we're really disjointed but Wenger has most of the blame here, we're not taking advantage of Everton's obvious tactical weaknesses.
