Milk for work

We have no fridge near the coffee maker in work.

I'm looking to buy a batch of UHT containers (like they have in McDinalds) of milk.

Anyone see them on sale anywhere?

Or anyone got any other suggestions as to get around the prob.

I don't take milk in my coffee so I am ok but a few of the lads do so trying to help them.

Tesco sell large cartons of UHT milk. I've seen it on the shelves next to all the other non dairy milk.

There's a general section for UHT milks, next to the gluten free stuff etc.

UHT also needs to be placed in the fridge. Why not use powdered coffee creamer, like coffeemate?

I was in this position many years ago at work. I started drinking tea and coffee black; I got used to it very quickly. It also helped me realize I'd been drinking awful stuff and I never looked back...

As a kid I would only drink very cold milk. I used to put a thermos flask in the freezer to pre chill it and fill it in the morning. I would put milk in the freezer to bring it down but not actually freeze it. Defrosted milk tastes funny, but probably still better than UHT or creamer stuff.

first thing, you don't need to store UHT milk in the fridge, I know this for a fact, just ensure it's not kept in warm areas (unlikely in Ireland...).

Also, you can buy better quality UHT milk in Polish shops, rather than Tesco and I think the latter doesn't offer whole milk, I wasn't impressed with their products a couple of years ago when I last tried them.

It is worth trying both, probably.

So when its opened you don't think it then needs to be refrigerated?

once it's opened you do, but my understanding was that it would be used quickly (say for a couple of hours), in which case you can leave it out of the fridge

Viking probably does milk pods. This could be included in your office's stationery order. Otherwise, get a mini fridge!
