    I recently acquired an old MG as a project, but more about that later. The interesting thing is the fact that the car came with a large bundle of paperwork, a lot of it consisting of sevice/repairs receipts etc.

    One that caught my eye dated February 1983 was a receipt from
    "Malick Cars" Automobile Restoration Engineers. It read;

    Breakdown callout, rectify fitting of new points, replace burnt out condenser and baseplate screw and adjust distributor settings.

    Callout £5.00
    Parts £0.90
    Labour £10.50

    Total £16.40

    Fitting of new disc pads

    Parts £9.80
    Labour £10.50

    I know everything was cheaper back in 1983, but still...........

    Still profiteering on the labour cost..... No change there. Small wonder I did it all myself.
