Sorry my mistake I should have been more specific in my post, I had some understanding that members of the Government at the time were involved with the whole "Anglo bank scandals".

Obviously not the same government, but the likes of some Fianna Fail members are still on ridiculous salaries this year.

That's not the attitude at all, I said the Government and the likes, obviously it wasn't them alone, but it wasn't the lower income families who are being hit more and more. Obviously we could be worse, I'm grateful to have a roof over my head but why should people be grateful if they have to live in poverty while working just to be able to pay all these taxes and charges.

“To my knowledge Enda Kenny and his ministers are the only people who will be able to claim back their water charges from their tax bill. The fact that each of them earn above €130,000 a year won’t be lost on anyone.”

Just came across this quote I don't think I can add links to my posts, I'll leave it there anyway.

Breaking News reporting "thousands" at the protest.

From pictures I've seen there definitely seems to be a good turnout. I'm sure more accurate figures will be released later.

I just passed the protest. I'd guess the number is closer to 10000 than 100000 as suggested
above. Some shady elements towards the front of it too

    Well done to all.

They'll start working again when the 'police brutality' starts once the rabble refuses to disperse.

'From my employer, much like many other people!'was the response

RTE news says "thousands" I think you're overestimating.

The march isn't going to make a blind bit of difference. Even if every one of them went home and dug up their meter it wouldn't matter. The last hope is for a mass campaign of non-payment of the bill. As called for by various "socialists". Our own little poll doesn't give much encouragement, 50% going to pay, months before any bill is even sent out.

The HHC polls used to be only 20% or less were going to pay, even well into the due period.

Oh my god. Great job at turning out. I couldn't go but wanted to support this. Did the BCC turn up to cover this on the news? The Facebook revolution page is brilliant knowing damn well that RTE are fcuking parasites in bed with the government of the day. Unable to cover things properly.

I'm busy and racing about the place taking a quick break and poking my face into bits online. Looking forward to free time this evening to catch up on how things go.

It's definitely not close to 100k.

Thtat would be the equivalent of filling the whole of croke park and the rds. There were a lot there but nowhere near that

    Way more than 10,000 there

I see people are starting to get their retaliation in first at RTE who will be reporting only one tenth of the true number. Conspiracy theorists don't even have to see something reported before they can rubbish it.

We all know how this script goes.
The organisers claim a hugely exaggerated number, the official Garda figures are much lower and the protesters claim the Garda are lying under instruction from the government.

    About 2000 to 3000 there.

I don't know - there are people reaching the dail whilst others have yet to leave the garden of remembrance. That's over an hour of continuous walking. The last big palestine march was about 5,000 and it only took about 20 mins for everyone to be on the go.
