Yes Irish Water has been setup to make a profit at the expense of the Irish people and to the advantage of the Cronies.

    What cronies would those be?

The fact that the government gave Irish Water to Denis O Brien.

Let's hope you kept the receipt for where you get your 'facts'.

The cronies and the fat cats and the banksters of course.

Except that's not exactly true, in fact it's a complete lie.

    http://m.independent.ie/irish-news/politics/mary-lou-mcdonalds-business-class-flights-cost-fundraisers-10k-30567384.html

And no, I'm on defending it either. Economy does the rest of us, I've only been business class once in my life, which I got bumped up to for voluntary taking a later flight from Hong Kong to Heathrow.

    Politicians aren't royalty tbh.

A lie is it? Do you think she got the tickets on a promise that she would pay later?

My understanding is that the allowance is 30,000 per household.

I agree with you too. I reckon Irish Water has been set up to make a profit. The fact that the government gave Irish Water to Denis O Brien. It's just going to be sold on in the future to make a profit for him.

    Which is all not true.

Jesus this mob has truly brainwashed a good few.

    Good work.

The lines get blurred with the corrupt dealings FG have had with Mr O Brien before. The best thing to do would be for FG not to have had any more to do with him, then nobody could question their motives in this regards.

It is a fact that fundraising covered the trip, and that isn't what you led people to believe.

The rest of their wage goes into a pot from which they draw it for expenses, such as Mary-Lous first class round trip to Australia.

Not to mention 'the pension' from the 'job'.

Apparently the man who owns the company that makes electricity metres "owns" ESB

    ......Said no one, ever.

Saying the same about IW is equally false.

Which is about as self serving as it gets.
Also there are level's of populism, SF are telling blatant lies

What's the difference between a 'blatant' lie and a 'lie'
FG/Lab lied through their teeth to get into power after all, look at the promises they reneged on.

True he bought it, but we(the taxpayers) paid for most of it.

He bought the firm that installs the water meters.

But he doesn't own irish water as another posted stated as fact which is untrue.

I went to a protest in Cork Saturday and the amount of ill informed morons was unreal, it made the rest of us look stupid.

He will be next in line in the running to buy it when they do decide to Privatise Irish Water.

They underbid at least 2 other companies and still got it. One bid E52 million , and one bid E60 million . Mr o Briens company bid E45 million.
    We(the taxpayers) took a E100 million hit.

    Keep defending though.

Cheers for clearing that up. To be honest there is so much stuff online like politics.ie and the journal and Facebook and Irish politics has been very complex in the past with tribunals and all, I got my info wrong and wires mixed. My choice of wording was poor in the other post but went back and deleted it.
