I went to Limerick yesterday, great atmosphere despite the rain lashing down.
FG, when you see people going out in weather like that, you are in big fcukin trouble.
Everybody seemed to be respectable, well mannered /dressed. Nobody drinking flagons of cider/ abusing the Gardai.
I asked a few people to come two did (both working) two didnt (both on the dole, "Waste of time" and "Er, no thanks")
My only issue was a couple of Fwords that slipped out in the speeches, there were kids present, but i dont think they did any permanent damage!
FWIW, I measured the area in Bedford Row on Bing and worked out that there were between 3000-3500 people in the crowd.
Cant wait for the next one!!
I was in Portlaoise. It was just ordinary people, the kind you meet on the street or in the shops, of all ages, all walks of life. Been trying to guesstimate the crowd, maybe 4,000 or more. There was a speech towards the end and they said another march would take place on December 6th. I could see a lot of people mentally chalk that date down.
There was a certain element of restoring some dignity yesterday, after years of being seen to meekly accepting the bull****. You could see it for some people, and even with the rain it didn't hold them back.0 -

I woke up yesterday morning and it was wet, cold and windy. I almost didn't go into my local protest. I attended some protests down through the years, the last before this water protest being about the Anglo tapes and I'd turn up to a protest with no more than a few hundred. It was great to see thousands out yesterday in spite of the cold rain and wind.0 -

Remember remember the 5th of November, lets show Denis O Brien we're going to take down all his business interests until he disbands Irish Water and return the money he owes us!! Fresh from todays successful protest, the biggest in a very long time in Gaillimh, we should strike while the iron's hot and put them under more pressure asap. Lots of us live near a topaz and could drop down for an hour or 2 to show support. the station I know that are company owned are on College Road, Bohermore roundabout, Newcastle. Those driving could park their cars on the forecourts and join the picket line, we've got shelter from the rain if we need it and bottomless coffee on Denis
