I often call one of the dogs by my child's name & the other way around. I'm a terrible mother :-)

Not a dog but when I come home every day I call out "Hey Bum Fluff!" To my hamster in greeting.

Benson is "bouncy", "hairy boy" and "Benson 40 coats" :o. For a setter he has a bit of a mad hairy coat!

Coco is sometimes "peglet" as her full name is Coco Peggy but the peggy gets amalgamated with piglet to become peglet. And also "hairy girl" and ahem, "blondy bum" :o as her bum hair feathering is a lighter colour than her red coat. And also "darling", which is part of her kennel name. All her siblings were Monacrea darling/beauty/vision etc.

Sprocket, Prairie Rocket and Smiler for our collie - the she moves and smiles a lot , Mammy Pip for our lab cos she goes around looking after everyone, wont settle until all family members are home and splits up the cats if they have a scuffle, or even when they play too much. We've a good few names for our terrier x one of which is Professer, because he has an air of knowledge and wisdom about him that fits:-)

I call one Butterball going back to a time when she was a bit portly but the name stuck, the other is Mr September as he has a way of lying on the couch that makes him look like he is posing for a porn mag. Collectively as a pair, they are known as the wiggle woggles, don't ask me why, haven't a clue where that came from.

My last litter was all given Star Trek show names because I'm a Star Trek fan.

The pup I was keeping was called 'Bones' as a pet name keeping in with the Star Trek theme.

One day in the park my oldest daughter shouted 'Boner come back here'

I can safely say by the time we got home he had a new name!!!!

Archie is Poo, Poo Bear, Big Bear, Silver Bear or just 'The Bear' (he looks nothing like a bear) and we change the words of many many songs to incorporate 'The Bear'.....
Lily is Lil Pil, Lily Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Lulu, Loopy Loops, Guadalupe Puerto Rican Princess (she's not Puerto Rican)

They answer to all of them

Oh, I forgot, Coco is also "Flirty Gerty" when she decided that one of the visiting males is worthy of her affection. She does this body shuffle into them and literally flutters her eyelashes:D

The silver bullet and bernie the bolt are two recent nicknames for my merle collie x - he's one of those dogs that you have to be extremely quick to side step when he's at full pelt - otherwise he'd knock you over - I'm used to it but I constantly have to nudge visitors out of the way when he's approaching.

Cream: creamy, creamy weamie, crem de la crem, Percy, beamer, boll*x (last one reserved for special occasions!)

Peach: peach pants, madam peach butt, princess bob, her royal fatness!

Dude: doodles, Dudester, doodlebug, the bug, mr moo, sh*tty arse! :D

We call the dog Mollinator after the terminator or I call her sausage cos she's a little fatty. My nanny used to call her Molly mo mo.

But at the end of the day she answers to whoever has the treats or cheese.

I have so many that any decent psychaitrist who witnessed my reunion with my dog after even an hour might raise an eyebrow.

    Loving this thread:D

Max: Maximoo, Maxi, Maximus, Monkey Boy, Chilean Miner
Pippa: Pippapoo, Pippoo, Pippakin, Noodle, Noodlehead, Snotser, Button
Zeus: Moose, Goose, Zoosey-Zoo, Big Boy, Donkey

Obviously a lot of these are variations on their own names. Max and Zeus are their original names, while I had no background on Pippa so she was named after a childhood terrier called Pip.
I realise now I have a habit of adding "oo" to the end of names! Chilean Miner came about as Max started tunnelling under the duvet at the same time the Chilean miners were in the news.
Noodle is because we think Pippa might have some designer mix in there...while Noodlehead refers to that and her tendency to be a bit of a bimbo! She snorts quite a bit, hence Snotser, while Button refers to the fact that she is cute as a button!
Moose suits the big lad in appearance, while he can be a bit of a Goose from time to time.Same for Donkey!

Rufus is known more as "the boy" when we talk about him than rufus.

He is also called the poo, the smink and the elephant.

he doesn't answer to anything but his name though.

No dogs but my cats have a wide variety of ridiculous names :P

Blue: Has never actually been called Blue in her life, we call her chubbsy because she is a fatty, she answers to that name! we also occasionally call her chubb town, or just chubbs

Umi: Has also never been called her name, she answers to baby Godzilla. She got the nickname when she was a kitten. Baby cause she is tiny and Godzilla because she wrecks EVERYTHING. if there is someone that needs to be washed or has done something stupid or needs to be saved its pretty much always her. Sometimes she gets called baby g for short

Collectively we just refer to them as the girlos, its very embarrassing calling for them out the back as you can imagine :pac:
