For any renters out there who's landlord hasn't registered them with the PRTB point them to this story.

    http://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/landlord-convicted-for-not-registering-tenants-636531.html

The Private Residential Tenancies Board has secured two criminal convictions against a Landlord who failed to register his tenancies.

....Name of landlord in story, won't post here in case it gets boards in trouble somehow.(damn you Sherlock)..........

The properties had been referred to Dublin City Council for inspection by the Department of Social Protection which had received an application for rent supplement payments to tenants at the addresses, and had a concern about the standard of the dwellings.
On review, it appeared that the tenancies were not registered and the matter was referred to the PRTB.
The Landlord failed to attend Court and was convicted in his absence.
