    Fantasy League (@fantasyleague) tweeted at 10:42pm - 25 Jul 14:

Injury update: Adam Lallana out for six weeks with knee ligament damage. Could miss as many as five matches for #LFC in the new season. (https://twitter.com/fantasyleague/status/492787074710663168)

Could mean Remy will get a starting berth from the go...

One thing i've noticed with the majority of teams on here is that basically nobody is picking any Liverpool attacking options?

Gerrard finished as the second highest scoring mid behind Yaya 3 points above hazard and is only 9 mil? Sturridge was the second highest scorer in the league?

Liverpool scored 109 goals in all competitions last season Suarez scored 31 fair enough but that still leaves 78 goals and id imagine some of the new signings will help out with at least part of Suarez's tally this season??

I'm seriously thinking of putting Gerrard in. heartbreaking as he is at times in this game i'm biased and i love him yes, but the points don't lie! I've got attacking options from all the other top teams and feel i'll be missing out without anyone from Liverpool in there somewhere!

I've also had a few scoops so maybe my judgement is clouded but I feel like i'm making sense!

Ill be going with sturridge has been extremely consistent for liverpool with or without suarez.

What do people make of Kevin Nolan? Only. 5 dearer than siggy and I reckon he'll outscore him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

The other options in Hazard, Fabregas, Ramsey, Yaya offer more upside in terms of no. of chances created for assists and amount of shots they get per game.
(Hazard especially as with better players around him to finish chances (Fabregas, Costa should improve on his assist total given the high amount of chances created last season.)

My point wasn't to say lump on Gerrard sorry if thats how it came across i was just saying that in all the teams i have seen thrown up here i have only seen a liverpool attacking option in one or two tops! Considering Liverpool seem to be an all out attacking side now i don't get it at all! Sturridge seems like an obvious choice but his price means my squad has to suffer elsewhere. I'll more then likely settle for Lallana but it depends on how he is played in the rest of the pre season games and if he is going to be a sure starter!

I've already got Rooney, Costa, Sanchez, Silva in my team so would like to get a Liverpool player in their too as they are definitely going to keep scoring goals! Maybe not as freely as with Suarez but Rodgers style of play dictates that there will be goals! It was the same at Swansea!

Chambers going to Arsenal, according to posters on Scout. Maybe Mr P's new main man Targett is now one to get!

Sorry mate I took you up wrong. :o:) Just my main point would be that Gerrard is overvalued at 9.0M given his return should decline significantly.

Your best shot for a solid Liverpool attacking player will be Sturridge. No 1 striker and was solid when playing as the lone striker when Suarez was banned at the start of last season. 11.5M and a decent captaincy option.

If your looking for outsiders if Lallana is injured for the first few games of the season then Remy might be a good early option.

Otherwise maybe a punt on Henderson? He's acting as the box-to-box midfielder and probably be guaranteed 30+ games in that midfield and could get more attacking returns from play than the likes of Gerrard.
At 6 million he might offer some value given Can will probably act as a holding midfielder and offer him some more forward freedom. He could be a bit of a sleeper.

Serge Gnabry could be going the other way on loan - could be one to keep an eye on. Think he's only 4.5m.

You gotta feel for Southampton fans - seeing all their best players leave in the space of a few months. They may find it tough this season with a whole new lineup and staff.

G'wan the Targett, he may be the only guy left at Southampton soon. MT 2.0 is alive and kicking :D

So what do we think Southampton's back 4 will line up like now? Target, Fonte, Yoshida and Clyne?

I don't know if I want any part of them now. Getting torn apart. It's kind of sad :( but maybe koeman has his own signings lined up ......

Southampton have been asset stripped over the summer. I wouldn't touch them. They will be in a real relegation battle this year.

Just read that Herrera had the same number of assists in his first game for United than Wellbeck,Young & Fellaini had for the whole of last season. He could be one to watch.

Is Remy definitely going to Liverpool?

If not I'm surprised there has been no mention of Rickie Lambert. Decent player.

And that wellbeck young and fellani need to be avoided. What's herreras stats from Spain can't say I know too much about him. I believe he played off the front 2 in the second half is that his usual position as it's the one position utd have lots of options

He played deep against Galaxy but moved further up the pitch in the 2nd half and ran the show.

LVG played a 3-5-2 formation with wingbacks so there was plenty of options for interchange in midfield.
They are playing Roma tonight so might be a chance to get another look at him.

Rooney starting to look like a bargain

Yeah. He will be fitter than RVP for the start of the league too. His combination work with Mata looks lethal. Mata will thrive this year in this new system

breaking news! Liverpool's agreement to sign Remy has fallen thru when they discovered that he doesn't play for Southampton

    Opinions of this

    Mannone
    Krul

    Shaw
    Debuchy
    Wisdom
    Upson
    Targett

    Mata
    Hazard
    Sanchez
    Sigurdsson

    Rooney
    Giroud
    Dzeko

My subs aren't great and I am planning on playing a 4.0m defender every week and just rotating with who has the best fixture but other than that I think its a great team especially if Giroud and Dzeko keep their places, was planning on RVP but Rooney has looked great so far in pre season plus it looks like both will play as strikers anyway, Rooney is bargain at 10.5m if hes playing up top

Sanchez, Mata and Hazard are the pick of the midfielders in the game and with Sigurdsson already scoring goals for Swansea I think I;m onto a winner with this team

I think Mata, Sanchez and Hazard are the

Aston Villa's fixtures after first 3 weeks:

    GW4 Liverpool A
    GW5 Arsenal H
    GW6 Chelsea A
    GW7 Man City H
    GW8 Everton A
    GW9 QPR A
    GW10 Spurs H

That's 7 in a row that you would arguably be benching every player. I know people are selecting the likes of Bent or Vlaar but in reality you're not going to be rotating them during these weeks. I know people are getting them in because they're cheap but just thinking about price changes, during this run I reckon they could struggle to get a single clean sheet, and with Vlaar's high ownership, it could be in these weeks that he starts getting sold. I'd prefer to gamble on a Santon/de Laet/Chester/O'Shea/Wisdom or even someone like Yoshida if he plays.

Just a caveat to Vlaar owners, I could be proved completely wrong. Just looking at the high-ownership players I reckon he's one of the first at risk of a price drop.

newcastle, sunderland, stoke, swansea, southampton, burnley, wba, qpr all better options for 4.5 defenders if looking at the first 8 fixtures.

I was just looking over Fabregas previous stats and thinking about a switch from Hazard to Fabregas to save £1m. In 2009/10 (a long time ago - granted) he got 15 goals and 15 assists in 2188 minutes.

Does anyone know if he was on penalties that year? He never came close to that many goals in any other season but his assists were always very consistent. His assists high was 20.

    Cesc Fibreglass

He'll spend 30% of the season injured

Hazard definitely worth forking out the extra mil for

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,385 ✭✭✭Nerdlingr

What about Schurrle lads? 7.5m ... worth a risk?...

    Matic-Fabregas
    Schurrle - Oscar - Hazard
    Costa

    ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,052 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

I think Hazard will go very close to being the top points scorer overall this season. Fabreagas their are questions how deep will he play, will he be rotated and he is injury prone.

Hazard Free's, penalties, scores and finally has a striker who can score to assist.

Nearing my final team selection, and could do with some advice. Basically it comes down to having 15mil for a striker and a midfielder.

    So its a) giroud + arnie/nolan/siggy

    Or

    B) silva/fabregas + ings/Austin/jelavic.

Rest of my front 7 is Mata sanchez Eriksen Rooney dzeko.
