Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Actually was on Holiday in Norway a good few years ago. Never managed to get to match there but did see Rosenborgs stadium from out side and its very impressive. Also got into Brann Bergens stadium and thats very very impressive.

Thought there was going to be a match on there as there was a few people milling about but nothing happened - actually they were under the same impression.

Also got to see Bodo/Glimts ground in the far north of the country which is within the arctic circle. Fairly ordinary ground and woudnt be up to the level of Turners Cross or Tolka Park say.

Word is, Rosenborg manager has been sacked.

They were very unimpressive again yesterday in their 1-0 win at home. Their winger Mike Jensen dived for the penalty (wasn't even touched, just fell over like he was taken out of it ) and they almost gave away the win in injury time only for a great save from the keeper.

Hopefully we put in another great performance on Thursday.

Last year was a blip in what has been a fairly successful decade for the LOI in Europe it has to be said.
Last year was particularly bad, but the last few years have not been good. This is already the league's best performance in Europe since 2008.

Agreed. 00's were a great decade, arguably the best of all time for LOI clubs in Europe. 10's haven't been great thus far.

To be honest this would have been a lot better result had it happened 10 years ago Rosenborg are a shadow of what they used to be

Morten Gamst Pedersen earns more than our entire team and their turnover is about 20 times ours. Still a great result in 2014.

    Played 12, won 2, drew 2, lost 8?

Also, Pats were the only other LOI side to win a tie that year (or even a game), so the overall average (1.5) was lower than this year (1.75) based on UEFA's ranking system.

The fact that LOI clubs can even compete with the likes of Rosenborg and Legia Warsaw is remarkable given the massive gulf in resources.

Ten years ago the Norwegian League was ranked 20th. Now its ranked 26th.

Not a major difference really plus they enter at the same stage still as a seeded team.

A major collapse would be something like Scotland.

Rosenborg sacked their manager despite winning a league game at the weekend. Shows how badly the loss went down in their camp.

Just a few hours to go till we try and defend our historic lead. Not going to be easy, but looking forward to it none the less.

Ten or so years ago Shels would have also beaten Rosenborg they did run Deportivo La Coruna close a much much bigger side than Rosenborg

Hard luck Sligo! Shame to see the European adventure end. Still it's a learning club. The overall results have been good.

Poor results all round for the Irish clubs over the last couple of nights.

Dundalk beat Hadjuk Split 2-1 away. Just wasn't enough to put them through.

Rosenborg used be in the Champions League groups nearly every year a while back. Have they gone to crap?

I think Norway used to get an automatic spot a few years ago and not anymore. This is a poor period from countries in Northern Europe. British countries, Ireland, and Scandinavian countries are not great now.

SOrry Dundalk fans, great result from you. Well done, think you will left the league this season.
