Had a nice win a month ago on the horses, so done a 10e long term bet for the season ahead of what I thought we value bets. Not expecting it to win to interesting all the same. The returns are over 8 grand, so Il be a happy camper if it comes in, a lot of the prices arent on offer anymore, so I was right with my eye for value at the time.

    Wigan to be promoted 3/1
Leyton orient to be promoted 9/2
Real Madrid La Liga champions 10/11
    Roma win serie a , w/o Juve 2/1
Zenit st petersbourg to win russia 11/8
    Ajax to win Netherlands 6/5

First two are the weakest i think , my thinking was wigan would push on from last season where they had a terrible start, They were brilliant under rosler, and if he can bring their cup run form into league they have a great chance!

Leyton Orient went close last season, lost play offs, and saw they have been taken over by a tycoon so thought they would be spending massive amounts but not sure how they will do now, should still finish top 6comfortably wich will give dem a great chance.

Of the others I dont see a problem other than barca winning la liga.

Just to try to keep a little interest in the lower leagues, did the following which comes in as a nice little 2380/1.

West Brom to be relegated 5/2
    Championship o/r: Nott Forest 12/1
    League 1 o/r: Bristol City 6/1
    League 2 o/r: Luton Town 13/2

Just as I've it typed out here, I'm now realising there's prob a very good reason it's a 2380/1 shot but nothing ventured, nothing gained!

Had another Euro themed one ready to go but seems like I can't include Real to win Champs League and La Liga in the same accum. Kinda bs as one has no impact whatsoever on the other.

The Real bet is definitely related. They would obviously have to be in really good form to win both so the form of the team is relative.

    Chelsea win
    Nottm Forest top 6
    Leyton Orient top 6
    Portsmouth top 6
    FC Porto win
    Ajax win
    Margate win
    Hearts w/o Rangers
    Dunfermline win

Crystal Palace to be relegated is still 5/2 even with Pulis now gone.

    Get on it quick

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,957 ✭✭✭Dots1982

Nikita jelevic is 13-5 with PP to be hull's top goalscorer. Shane long is 17-10 despite no longer being a hull player.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,957 ✭✭✭Dots1982

Hull are 4/5 to finish ahead of Palace with PP. Anyone know what the Max bet PP will accept on these types of bets.

Hazard and STerling here are great picks. The pfa team of the year has been 4-4-2 forever. Most of the competition here play in central midfield.

    http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/pfa-team-of-year-midfielders

Really like Costa over 18.5 and over 16.5 goals. Main striker playing for potential champions. Good scoring record last season. Typically 3-4 players a year break 20 goals, so 18.5 is not that high. You can even arb the 16.5 over with BetVictor and Under with Paddy if that's your thing

Really like Newcastle to score the least number of goals @ 33/1 with Betvictor, they had no shot on target against Man City ( I know its not a far reflection) and i've no faith in Riviere as a striker (very frustrating finisher), No one seems to know when Cisse is back from a Knee injury and if Cabella and Sissoko dont play well they will not create much - not a large stake but worth a tenner for the possible returns:p

Do you think they will score less over 38 games than Burnley, Westbrom ect ?

We will find out soon enough i suppose but West Brom already have 2 and look like they have a good striker (Berahino), Burnley have Ings, Sordell , Jutkiewicz and Sam Vokes all have scored plenty in the lower leagues surly one of them will come good - don't get me wrong this is a shot in the dark with tonnes of mitigating factors but at 33/1 i like it,

Wouldnt touch it boss, even as a longshot to be honest . Newcastle have made a few shrewd signings in the transfer market this summer and i fancy them as an outside chance for a top 8 finish. Their early form last season was brilliant right up until they sold cabaye, i believe they have a player of similiar stock now in cabella as well as strenghtening other areas. As someone else said there are quiet a few teams who are way below newcastle in terms of player quality. It is only GW 1 of a 38 match season dont forget, they played the champions on the first week.

How's everyone's ante post accums going ? My main one is looking ok so far, derby top 6, Roma top 3, Preston top 6, Chelsea top London club, Bayern for bundlesliga, two dodgy ones are Real Madrid for la liga and Portsmouth top 7. Hopefully Portsmouth can get a run of decent results together and then maybe I will consider covering Real Madrid.

Forest 2nd and unbeaten so far but its the Championship so anything is likely to happen yet. Bristol City top of League 1 and Luton sitting in, I think, 6th/7th in League 2 without setting the world alight so they need to up their game a little. I'd be quite confident at this stage in saying that its gonna be West Brom who are the dead certs to screw mine up.

So them to lose 3 or more is a bet too?

If they keep it up like this they ll be champions around march. If they are still i nthe CL you can bet they will play weaker line ups prior to CL games.
Or do a Guardiola and once the league is wrapped just dont give a **** anymore.

Sorry Inforfun, only seeing this now. Yeh I asked on twitter and I got those odds. So I imagine for Chelsea to lose 3 or more they are probably giving at 6/5 or 11/10?

PSV will ruin a lot of the season long bets posted here, i fear.
Winning matches, they shouldnt win, in injury time like Ajax did last year quite a few times.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

Yep, if the season was to finish today, that would be the one runner that would be certain to let me down (along with sheffield united having to progress through the playoffs).

Lets hope PSVs luck changes over the coming months.

Just checked back in on my bets

Hazard to be player of the year. Hugely unlikely.

Derby top 6, psg, juventus and bayern to win, @ 5/1 looks good.

Blackburn top half, villa bottom half @evens looks very good.

Chelsea fa cup. Looks same as always!

I'll be up a nice penny if the middle two come in for me

Villa have not kept it up which is good and had some tough games- two points of bottom three. Leeds are two points off the bottom three as week and Costa seems to be in a straight shoot out with Aguero. Got a chance.

My bet on Inter to win the Europa league at the start of the season is doing OK so far. The Nerazzurri got Celitc in the next round, and should be comfortable stroll. I know they used to make the draw for both 1/32 and 1/16 in the same day, but I'm struggling to find it. Will UEFA make a separate draw for the last sixteen fixtures?

Cant see it, they have way too much quality. In Germany afaik the bottom gets relegated and the second last team plays the second placed team in the second division over two legs so no.

2 go down and the no 16 plays promotion/relegation play off.

But Dortmund will not be relegated. Probably will qualify for Europe still.
