electric has been turned off in my house due to no one living there.
is it possible to get it turned back on with  a pay as you go meter or is there a fee.

    Hi bobby74,

    Thanks for your post.

The first thing to confirm is if the electricity is just turned off at the fuse board (via the main trip switch). If not, there would be a fee of €79.45 (incl. VAT) to send out a technician to reconnect the property.

Do you know how long the property has been without power? If it has been turned off for more than 6 months, you would need to get an electrician to check and certify the wiring. And if the property has been without power for 2 years, you would need to apply for a reconnection through ESB Networks. FYou can find further information here.

Once the property has been reconnected, you can avail of our new pay-as-you-go meters.

If you have any other questions we'll be happy to help.

    Regards,
    David
