Strange. I wouldn't have thought the Victoria Cross Trust would have copyright over that symbol.

Maybe the actually cross with the Lion and the Crown but you can't copyright a simple cross , which is what the RFU have .

Pissing myself that the only Samoan on the English team is the only one clutching the crest.
I can't imagine Strauss running around kissing the shamrock.

Strauss hasn't lived here since he was twelve, in fairness. Manu Tuilagi is not a standard naturalised player.

Tuilagi hasn't had a heart attack for England though ;)

CCC released an image of the crest on the new kit this morning and it looks like we are getting little shamrocks instead of crosses like the England kit. They are more like little radioactive material symbols than shamrocks to me though.

Is this shirt going to be what we wear into the world cup, or will there be a new one released for that?

It'll be the same, minus sponsor.

Anyone have crusaders or french jersey? How is the adidas fitting, large seems very big with adidas.

So the English get copyright pending Victoria Crosses and we get radioactive shamrocks. Are Canterbury making any other new international kits?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,232 ✭✭✭DGRulz

Maybe when other teams see the radioactive symbols they'll think twice about tackling us :v

Why do you reckon? There never has been before, just a sponsorless one. We release every 2nd year usually.

The RWC jersey will not have the sponsor logo and will have the RWC2015 logo instead. Here's the 2011 RWC Jersey.

Our last WC jersey was different from the one we wore in the 6nations. It didn't have any grip on the chest.

The test version does. I own it. See illustrated:

Ay so it did, my mistake, it was just really really toned down for the world cup.

I picked the Leinster Marmite jersey

Same as myself, I like it much more than their home and alternative jerseys.

Is that not the comp they are running? Announcing winners today for the reveal later in the week?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,320 ✭✭✭Teferi

Not too excited about it, judging from the previews its just going to be an Irish version of the English one.

I think that would be a massive improvement on the last few years. The English one is actually quite nice.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,320 ✭✭✭Teferi

I'm sure it will be nice, I just think the build up is going to be wasted as judging from the previews its going to be just an Irish version of the English jersey. Which is fine and all as its a nice jersey but I would hope they would want to do something a little different.

Not sure TBH. Just looking at the Irish rugby twitter feed and it definitely seems like there is a launch event today, whether we'll actually get to see the jersey or not is another thing

Ah yeah, don't get the build up. It's just a jersey.

Was told by Elveries that they'd have them for sale tomorrow. I'll worry about them then.

There seem to be a lot of tightheads playing for Ireland these days.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Wish it had the little collar like the English one has, but other than that it's lovely.

Canterbury have always just had the same template but different colours though? Looks like that isn't changing now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Don't like the white stripy socks tho! :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,847 ✭✭✭b.gud

Not sure about the away one, but the home one looks very nice.

Also very political to have two representatives from each province :)

It's actually a good bit different than the English jersey, different collar etc.

    No Zebo though.

I'll wait until I see it in the flesh. Not mad for that collar tbh. Happy that the crest isn't in the middle.
