Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That's comically bad from us at the line out and ensuing ruck. We're being well beaten everywhere but the scoreboard.

Was just going to post that, we're still in this game because Wales haven't converted their scoring chances but we need to cut out our errors.

Our handling has been awful so far

    This guy is a disgrace

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Referee is fussy but he has been for both sides. Don't think there's anything too over the top.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Wales, not for the first time, blow a massive overlap and almost certain try if they go through hands.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Another good turnover from our hooker.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

McCall looks a good player if a bit small. Lineout is a worry though

I absolutely hate that though, when they have no feel for the game at all. It's only just behind inconsistency in bad ref traits imo, because of the negative effect it has on the game

Will be hard to win a game with the scrum getting destroyed.

Shame this bunch of backs couldn't have a better pack

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    Scrum just got dominated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,377 ✭✭✭✭phog

    Wow, that scrum.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Given how badly the set piece has gone, it really doesn't speak volumes about the changes we made in the pack. Lacking cohesion in the line out and power in the scrum.

Pack wasn't too bad in the previous games but they are getting a doing this evening.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

The 3 changes in the pack seem to have backfired. Really 4 changes with Murphy's positional change

    What a try

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Superb try from the Welsh after we're turned over yet again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

    Wonderful try there

Came from an absolute mess of a ruck. As much praise as the coaches got earlier the organisation is all over the place tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,384 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

All came from a player getting isolated with no support. This has been very bad from Ireland. Look a different team to the one that played against France and England.

    Beautiful try.

This is a real shame of a match. 40 mins gone and we've seen almost nothing from the Irish backs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

The ref is allowing players go off their feet of the ball bounced out of a ruck. That's not allowed. That turnover shouldn't have happened.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Nick mcarthy had been absolutely appaling , couldn't pick a ball off the ground if his life depended on it , and why are the ireland u20s so physically underpowered compared to every other six nations team

Because the English welsh and French are in academies from the age of 15/16

We're getting milled here - Badly need some changes at half-time

That try is what I am most afraid of tomorrow. Welsh backs running direct and getting hands free for offloads like that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Daire O'Brien is the creepiest looking bloke on television.

Ah yeah but they'll surely be exhausted after playing tonight.

Ireland youth teams up to u18 are only allowed 1.5m of a push, so there is no reason to learn how to scrummage properly until you are over 18.

Would it kill the commentators to learn the laws ? Time and time again it's oh that's harsh oh that's a dodgy call and the ref is whistle happy when he could be making all the correct calls.

Bull crap about dark arts and the ruck and maul been a lottery are just cop outs, if they are being paid to do a job they should aquaint themselves with the laws.

Terrible handling there. Should have been away in a hack.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

That throw looked fine to me. Lift and jump were very poor.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

This is getting ridiculous, someone tell dardis to run the bloody ball!

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

That clipped the whitewash to my mind. Very fortunate it wasn't called back. Was overcooked certainly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

    Outrageous skills from Welsh forwards.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,632 ✭✭✭ssaye2

    Set piece ****e

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭kingofthekong

Dardis refusing to counter attack every time e gets the ball it's u20s have a crack for Christ sake

Jeez this is painful although in fairness Wales have been excellent

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

Ireland completely overpowered here. Wales clearly aren't lacking for skill but they have the platform to show it

Given how we've played and looked to kick in all shapes and forms (touchfinders, up and unders and grubbers), I wouldn't think it's entirely his decision.

Destroyed in the scrum again. Surprised referee hasn't spoken to front row yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,632 ✭✭✭ssaye2

At least Byrne still a great kicker

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,414 ✭✭✭Lord Trollington

Should have kicked to corner and mauled. We're going to need 3 tries to win this.

This guy is a terrible kicker. Two that he got were lucky and now he's missed that

Josh Murphy has had a night to forget

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,636 ✭✭✭✭Tox56

The 11 had a golden opportunity to offload and didn't even look, lot of basic skills missing tonight

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,632 ✭✭✭ssaye2

We will win last min funny old game

We're really not. Loads of time, we should take any kick we can.
