Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Show me where it says the date for the draw for the next round?

Do you really need that, you got everything else you were asking for? FYI the quarter draw was done immediatey after the final round 1 game and Leinster domestic/schools twitter announced that the day before.

    Storm in a teapot stuff.

Pres jct won 23-0 against a poor Kilkenny side. Could have been a lot more on another day.

It sure is. All I said was the leinsterrugby site was poor for information which it is. I haven't been to a schools game in a good while so I've no idea when draws take place etc. It would also be nice to know rough dates of when the games will be played (week starting etc.) as I'm sure they know this already

Leinsters website isn't poor for information though. Leinster cant say for definite when a draw for next round will take place as they have to take into account the possibility of replays as well.

They could easily say the draw will take place after all games are complete. But they don't. I'd call that poor on information

Yeah, agree if not more. Saw them before Christmas and Rock won easily. Same outcome tomorrow. Rock will go close to winning it out-
    right.

    In the Junior Cup today:
    Michaels beat Wesley by 50-0
    Gonzaga beat Newbridge 32-0
    Castleknock beat CBC 21-10

All 7 teams through so far won with ease. It should make for good quarter finals with some close affairs no matter what pairings are drawn tomorrow. The Terenure win is probably the most impressive given the strong reputation KH came with. Castleknock as league winners would have been expected to bear CBC, a Fr Godfrey qualifier by a bigger margin but the rest of the results were by margins you would expect. Rock should account for Clongowes. I presume everyone will be looking to avoid Rock and Nure with Pres Bray and Castleknock the preferred draws at this stage?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,608 ✭✭✭themont85

CBC side showed good spirit. Small year and not great league results but they showed well in the Godfrey and today

  • Registered Users Posts: 14 rugby2345

Gonzaga really impressive yesterday although up against an unusually poor newbridge team.
Great defense and quick counter attack could be dark horses for cup

  • Registered Users Posts: 958 ✭✭✭ArmchairQB

Yeah Gonzaga look decent, recognised their coaches from club rugby which is a good thing as Average and sometimes above average schools with regard to rugby benefit greatly from experienced coaches rather than teachers coaching them which I think is Newbridges problem.

Rock 23-3 Clongowes at half time

  • Registered Users Posts: 14 rugby2345

Only the 1 teacher out of 4 coaches the problem was that the 3rd years this year are short on talent.

  • Registered Users Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Ed The Equalizer

Rock win 23-15, all Clongowes in the second half. 2 tries each but Clongowes gave 3 penalties in front of the posts in the first half which ultimately decided the game

Blackrock's Junior Cup Outhalf Joesph Caputo has some connection with the Brumbies

His dad is Marco Caputo. The Leinster scrum coach and ex-Brumbies assistant coach.

He went off injured today, looked like some kind of ankle sprain. Was hugely missed. Looks a very strong player and excellent kicker and if he misses any games it's a big blow for them.

Cracking first half. As expected, Micheals hugely improved from their first round match

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Good game to watch. Standard not the same as previous years but entertaining stuff. Both sets of centres look good.

Deegan best player on the pitch

CWC will miss their 13 in 2nd half.

    Deegan v impressive at 8 for Michael's.

Ryan, the Michael's 5 has been pretty anonymous so far for a guy being tipped to turn pro

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Clongowes 10 seems a little out of his depth

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭funtime93

Michaels grew into the half as it wore on.Finally seem to be showing why they are tipped by many.Deegan is top class.Benches might be the difference and Michaels dont have much to call on.They have 4 fourth year subs apparently.Very close to call.

Connors at 6 for Clongowes looks a very good player

Clongowes fullback Silvester looks like an exciting runner. A 4th year too.

Contrary to what the commenator said, Silvester took part in TY last year, unless he has repeated he is a 5th year. Still a serious talent

however, McCrohan the 8 captained Clongowes Juniors last year

Some achievement to be starting at number 8 at senior level as a fourth year especially considering an Irish Schools international is opposing him in Deegan.

That Deegan kid is an impressive player.

Bad decision by Michaels there. Should have taken 3 points

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,382 ✭✭✭AndonHandon

Clongowes employing some dirty tactics going down for treatment the last 3 breaks in play. Attempting to upset the flow of the game.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 958 ✭✭✭funtime93

    That should be that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

There's no dirty tactics involved at all.

If you had seen many other games at both senior and junior level, you'd have seen the same.

The artificial surface is very tough on the legs.
Ankles, knees, calves and hamstrings in particular.

The players are genuinely in need of a stretch

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

Ref missed at least two forward passes there.

Michael's need to get over with the maul in a decent position for the conversion attempt

I've seen all senior cup matches in Donnybrook this year, and a good few club games as well, and completely agree. It's very tough on the legs
