Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Great win for 'Rock earlier. Clongowes to win Seniors and Blackrock for Juniors. Roscrea are doing great which is great to see. Serious questions must be asked of St. Michaels with 2 years of average cup performances in both competitions.

Michaels are on a dip from their heights, which is understandable, they are still producing talented players though, which is the most important thing.

They should have been much stronger at SCT this year but poor coaching and they may end up having lost to the eventual champions in the last minute. They lost to the eventual champions last year too but it was relatively close.

Their JCT side this year went out in a tight game and they were missing their most talented player.(Dan O'Donovan) And last year they simply lost to a better team in Belvo, who ended up in the final.

Next year's SCT will still have some talented players in it and they could go far depending on the draw. Expect Harry Byrne & Jack Dunne to emerge as the next two serious Leinster underage prospects.

They aren't winning an SCT with O'Meara in charge.

Yeah I saw in earlier posts about Michael's missing their 8 for Juniors. Is it known that O'Meara isn't a good coach or is it just talk ?

would love to see roscrea win the cup. good for the competition and away from one of the usual winners

would be good for the comp to an extent.

Would be great to see Roscrea or Newbridge win SCT or Roscrea win JCT but you have to see Nure or Rock for JCT or CWC for SCT. Although it is cup rugby....

Paddy Power offering 4/9 for Clongowes and 7/4 for Belvedere

    Handicap is -/+5

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 288 ✭✭ken76

So the bookies not giving Belvo any chance really

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

7/4 in a two horse race is great odds.

Evens for Belvo at +5 is interesting.

Personally think Mulcahy is too much of a loss to Clongowes if the news of his injury is true, can see McKeown run riot if Mulch is not at 13.

Mulcahy is definitely out with a cruciate ligament injury

Belvo have lost their blindside Jesse Iredale.

    I think it'll be a cracking game

  • Registered Users Posts: 14 Tixel

What happened iredale. Such a pity at this stage of the cup to see good players miss out

    Concussion.

Very bad preview in that it names the two players who are out injured for both sides.

Any live streams for today. In work and wont be able to watch on Setanta.

Well done Belvo for putting player welfare as priority. Hope he gets a chance to play before cup season is over. 2 players missing should balance each other out. Looking forward to a cracker.

Can someone give updates on todays game for those of us stuck in work please? Or is there anywhere that gives live scores?

    Any news from Donnybrook yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6 uylssesi

Think O'Sullivan & Jennings for Belvo will be the difference.

The game just started at 4

Wow. Belvo get 2nd try. 12-0

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

Belvo 12-0 up and well worth it.
    Dominating the kicking game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    Jennings penalty.

    15-0.

Clongowes look dangerous with ball in
    Hand

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 288 ✭✭ken76

I didn't expect this at all!!

Were the tries from the back or forwards? Thanks for updates

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    Both from backs.
One fortuitous try for Belvo in fairness.

    Jennings 2/4 kicks.

    CWC just missed a penalty.

As for not expecting it, I intimated this could happen

    Missed penalty for Belvo

    Still 15-0

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 288 ✭✭ken76

Are Belvo as dominant as the score suggests? Can you seen Clongowes coming back?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    HT 15-0.

Not quite as dominant as scoreline suggest but deserving of a 10 point lead minimum.

CWC lineout and kicking game aren't functioning.
Belvo's scrum is holding its own.

Belvo 9,10 controlling the game .

Ard Scoil beat Pres 13-11 to make their 2nd Munster SSC final in a row and only third ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    Fantastic belvedere try.
Great play by Jennings, super offload by McCaffrey, spun wide to full back Eoin Cleere who slid in to score in the corner

    Con missed

    20-0

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 288 ✭✭ken76

I hope this is on Setanta later

  • Registered Users Posts: 160 ✭✭Hon the Dubs

Can't see clongoes coming back from this now...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

    20-5 - Clongowes try

    Con missed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,818 ✭✭✭Inspector Coptoor

Belvo maul over from a lineout

Sub hooker Dan McCaffrey getting the try.

    Con scored by Jennings

    27-5

    That Should be that
