Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Anytime 5/4 looks good.

Bit short for stakes but a goodish price.

Lingard getting alot of the ball but disappointing in the final third. I dont blame him, he's not used to that position
He also looks dodgy at defending

I think the only reason he starts over James is that LVG didnt want a left side of defence with 2 young debutants

    Is Rafael injured?

We desperately, desperately need defensive players.

    Was Moyes that bad, lads?

  • Registered Users Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Ed The Equalizer

Is there any logic in a left footed player being RWB and a right footed player being LWB?

I think Hernandez is signing his death note as we speak. Awful game when he was needed most.

He might not be the only one.

Can we see these signings that can be done in 24hrs please lol

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Down 1-0 at half time - no real surprises... we will pay all season long if something major isn't done in the transfer market.... its not LVG or wasn't Moyes fault, the team is in a poor way.

    Awful muck.

Really looking forward to next game!!

Only 45 minutes of the new season but I'm already super duper excited about how different we look compared to previous seasons.

    What rubbish!

No player is playing anyway good. They have been rubbish. The strikers arent getting any sort of possession because of the CM. Paul Scholes called it perfectly that the CM arent supplying the strikers.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,241 ✭✭✭Vic Vinegar

Rojo and Blind will probably come in next week to reinforce the defence, another cm then and a winger and were sorted.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,226 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Everything off the pitch is big and shiny but on the pitch, we play just like some run of the mill mid-table club.

No team fear us, our pattern of play is to pass it back to De Gea half a dozen times before spreading it out to the right wing and then losing the ball. Complete shambles.

Throw on Nani and Fellaini for the laugh.

    Roll on the next game!

A lot of players seem slow on the ball, taking too many touches,

Swansea's midfield set up is really not giving Utd much space to create anything

We can talk about formations all we want. We're clearly lacking in quality, even with players to come back. Would Valencia and Fellaini make much of a difference today? Three players are needed badly

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,292 ✭✭✭Adamocovic

My brain told me not to look at the thread yet because no doubt there would be panic :P

We've had a good bit of ball but no real chances, VG will no doubt give them an earful. I can only hope we have a good second half and pull it around.

But saying that it is only the first game, we won our first game last year by three goals against Swansea, and look how that year turned out!

lads, as per the updated post at the top of the Soccer forum, please don't post in game vines (or gifs).

Yes, it sucks, but it's the rules we have to enforce now cause of the PL clamping down on this sort of thing. Sorry.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,437 ✭✭✭redbaron_99

No penetration. Need more to come from centre of midfield.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

Knew as soon as I put mata in my FF team he would have a mare.

    Hopefully second half is better

United have played very well I feel, but Hernandez is very off the pace, which is effecting the quality of the system because it relies on two strikers working off each other.

I expect changes at half time or 60mins in an United to win.

The one were United have controlled the possession, pace and bar a good break by Swansea, the game.

    Lighten up.

    3-5-2 abandoned after 45 minutes.

Im not sure how anyone can say that 1st half "United have played very well". It was rubbish. We may have the possession but did absolutely nothing with it.

New season, take the early booking!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,777 ✭✭✭jimmytwotimes 2013

If the return to 442 becomes permanent then Januzaj would play one wing. You'd hope then United would go for Di Maria.

Vidal for midfield, Rojo for CB.

    But Mata would miss out.

    Dream signings, but something needed!

He's a poor player, he relies on fouling players and his bald head to make him look hard, he's never played for a top team.

You'll get abused by the scouser reds for that...

Lads if we don't make some good proper signings in the next two weeks I'll go mad.

its all been very pretty and nice but no killer instinct at all

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 1,460 ✭✭✭Larry Wildman

    Shambolic.

No difference between this tripe and the rubbish we were subjected to under Moyes.

£150m spend required in the next fortnight.

No more spin...no more spoof. 5 players required.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,902 ✭✭✭MagicIRL

Vidal will save us, eh Larry?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

Team looks far more comfortable on the ball then last year but still no killer instinct. The midfield is weak as is the defence. Players are needed badly.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,999 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

    Young is shambolic.

Personally feel what we need right now is a striker who isn't useless for 89 minutes of the 90....
