Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Real Madrid XI v Manchester United: Casillas, Arbeloa, Pepe, Ramos, Nacho, Carvajal, Illarramendi, Xabi Alonso, Modric, Bale, Isco.

Did they have similar line-ups for the previous games?

Is Reece James still injured? Would have liked to see him starting at the expense of Valencia, with Young at RWB. Valencia is absolutely gash.

Pepe to be sent off. Always worth a punt if you're interested in gambling.

Have seen some suggestions that if we get Vidal, sorry when we get Vidal, that LVG may use Carrick as an option for one of the back 3..interesting if so... Good passer out of defense..

Our chances of seeing us sign a cb has just risen.

To be fair to Fletcher, he's looked really good. His passing has been crisp and his movement good.

Who is this guy wearing 18 for United?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

Young is playing excellently. LVG has performed a miracle there.

I wonder how good he would have been without his illness.

Good question. He looks very fit this tour and he's playing very well. Great tenacity to him and Herrera as a partnership. Having Fletch like this is like having a brand new player. Its fantastic to see.

While I've been saying about needing a backup to Shaw, Young is making an argument that perhaps he can be our second LWB.

Not saying I wouldn't mind a CB who could cover said position. But he's been preforming very well against Real and on the tour in general. LVG seems to be putting the fear of God in him.

Ashley Young is the reincarnation of Rod Tidwell

I enjoy how they want to keep the ball, how they use width in a very different way, how they get close to each other for passing and move to find space.

As you say only pre season but the players seem to be enjoying it and it is the type of play we want to see.

In the EPL, in the majority of games the left wing back won't need to be a player that was a left back who would be a better defender that attacker so I agree that Young could well do it.

At least Van Gaal is giving him a chance to try and take on the role.

Wonder how many passes were involved in that? Seems like we had the ball for ages.

    Light injury?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,161 ✭✭✭Cypher_sounds

So thats 19 more passes than any move we did on a pitch last season.
Seriously though even comparing preseasons the attitude and organisation of the 11 on the pitch compared to 12 months ago is like comparing Jenna Jameson to a nun.

Just missed it but, in the match thread it mentions something about a signing we're in for. Anyone any idea if we're in for any of the Dutch, remember RVP mentioning something about knowing more than us (the fans),after the 3/4 place play offs.

Just seen who we would play in the final should we win tonight

    Except without Moyes;)

Lads it just goes to show how Moyes destroyed this team

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

I hate having a bash at Moyes but its fairly obvious the moral and confidence was shattered, if he was still in charge I'd dread to think what the results would be

The fact that Everton squad weren't relegated under him is outstanding.

Moyes wasn't that bad for Everton though. He just wasn't able for the job at United.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,136 ✭✭✭✭Rayne Wooney

People can keep saying it but it doesn't make it true

I won't blame Moyes for what happened last season, he had a part to play but when you hear stories of the players not getting behind him as early as last August you can see what he was working with

I don't know why it's being brought up, that book is closed now anyway
