Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Back box question

I have an '02 1.2 Stilo and before the NCT I noticed that the standard exhaust back box looked very rough and mis-shapen. I expected it to fail the NCT and it did, but not because of this problem. In the meantime, the back box got worse and worse and eventually, it appears as if the entire outer skin separated and I had to pull it off. I don't know anything about the NCT rules for back boxes but the surface left behind seems strong and free of jagged metal with no leaks.

The question is if the back box as it is today will pass the test as is or have I removed some integral part of the box that the tester will be looking for? I have a new cat/ manifold to fit to the car and I'm just wondering if I should bite the bullet and replace the back box too. It should be noted that as much as I want my car right, I'm already licking my wounds from the rest of the work to the car and I could do with making savings if I can.

For the record, I wasn't in a position to bring the car anywhere but rang my local Advance Pitstop expecting to be told 'bring it in mate' but the guy told me over the phone that they often have 2 skins and as long as it was solid, and not leaking I should be fine...
