Is there a normal age? I was 16 losing mine and it just happened I wasnt ready or unready

Well there is an average, let's call 2 standard deviations either side normal.

I'd say average age is late teens/early 20s. That's average age now. There may be lots of people who lose their virginity much younger than that, but there are probably a lot who lose their virginity older than that too.
When you're older, the likelihood of someone losing their virginity later seems more probable, whereas when you're 17 you think everyone except social outcasts has done it. I thought my brother and his mates were 15/16 in their case - they were right player types. Most were actually 18/19/20.

That makes no sense in the context of our exchange. If you don't want to continue with this conversation then just say so. There's no need to personally insult me. I didn't do that to you.

I didn't personally insult you RTC. I pointed out that your spiel from authority (your opinion, contained within your post) seemed to make no allowances for anyone who disagreed with your opinion. You're telling people do this, do that, do the other, as if they would only be happier if they thought like you and lived their life like you. You don't seem to have considered that people who are not at all like you may have their own personal reasons for not becoming sexually active in their 20s like you did. They may not place as much emphasis on sex as you do, and may not derive the same pleasure from sex as you do.

If you want to continue this line of conversation, then drop the high minded high horsery, back pedaling and hiding behind words to cling on to your "I was going for objective, but when I'm called out on it I'll claim my opinions are subjective" nonsense.

I still haven't personally insulted you btw. I'm merely suggesting that what seems to work for you, may not work for someone else, let alone everyone else, as you were trying to make out, but got called on it.

16, what? No, totes not 'normal', scarleh for ya.

In all sersiousness, it's really variable. I wouldn't say there is an 'age' for it but more of an 'age range' but you will still get people losing it before and after that.

I dunno whether "normal" age matters too much, it's really more about why you haven't.
    Is it? Why's that?

Tried explaining my logic back there, if it seems like total bollocks I'm certainly not going to try and argue otherwise cos it probably is, I'm all over the place with that stuff :o

I was 18 but I know from friends and their teenage kids that the age has gone way down... 15/16 seems to be the average age now according to them... but then again I agree with fat Christy.. its variable I would say...

You implied that I was being dishonest and talking bull****. That's directed at me, now what I said. It's unnecessary.

I realise that I'm quite upfront in how I express myself, but what I wrote is clearly my own opinion. I really don't know how else to argue that point. It seems quite obvious to me.

I'm not hiding behind words and there's not one instance of me back-pedaling. You're painting a picture of me that isn't accurate, similar to how you pulled me up on being 'open-minded', when I said no such thing, and then using that as an argument against me. There's no need for the song and dance.

That certainly wasn't my intention. I don't have life figured out and I'd hate to be thought of as the guy with all the answers. if that's how I'm coming across on page then I'll have to express myself better in future. I still maintain that a post should be read as my opinion, but I'll certainly pay better attention to my phrasing from now on.

17 here. In hindsight, 20 odd years down the road, I'm pretty sure I'd have been ahead of a lot of my peers at the time. They seemed to spend a lot of time bragging about sex. I discovered it wasn't a bragging matter and more of a private affair overnight.

I honestly don't think there is.

I was 15 which is really young but I've only ever been with two people (both short enough relationships). Whereas my friends would have been a lot older but are a lot more active!

Age is irrelevant I think, you're ready when you're ready!

What do ye think the number is for a persons average amount of sexual partners?

Just seen an article there, it said an average of 8 for people in their 30's!

Seems a bit low to me but perhaps I am a heathen!

I had a cow earlier who went to dairy, she broke the electric fence into the bull, just over a year old. What does cow years to human equate to?

Eh...about 7 to 1. And ehmmm - heavy duty bondage between farmers and their cows isn't the subject here. Although I know a guy who does amateur art videos.

I'm 28 and still one. I have no interest in a visiting an escort and would argue the chances of me dying one are pretty good unless I suddenly become a chick magnet.

    Unlikely I would say.
