Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Suarez was already well on the way to being World Class at Ajax, said it myself at the time when he was banging them in week after week, Liverpool were lucky to get him as he would have made it had he gone to United or Barca directly or most other places. Wonderful player and was great for the EPL that we got to see a couple of his best years

But reality is that he's not a Liverpool player anymore, and this argument is getting tedious. I'd prefer a proper look at the upcoming league game between these clubs.

As a Liverpool fan I think this is something that should be avoided.

On the question of Suarez vs Aguero.

Aguero is and always had been the better player. No baggage. big match player - scores very important goals. Tends not to bite other players. Stays on his feet, unlike Suarez.

The only aspect Suarez has over him is that he is less injury prone.

    Hilarious stuff.

He's spot on about Aguero, better than Suarez in all aspects except injuries

Not sure what your getting at, care to man up and explain?
And anyway your post has no relevance to the thread so why don't you try and add something substantial rather than childish nonsense.

I'm a United fan and I'm getting serious yucks out of it, from both sets of supporters.

At times it's like arguing over how many magic beans it would take to grow a giant bean stalk!

Nonsense stuff a lot of it but thoroughly entertaining how football turns other wise rational, sensible grown men into one upping, willy waving lunatics!

I can't wait for the match thread!

The funniest bit is how you can read the Liverpool thread and constantly hear that Johnson and Gerard are finished and should not be in the team, yet come in here and they are back to being superstars. Funny that.

The Liverpool fans interviews with Sky this morning were interesting, a few more bad results and performances could tip the match going fans over the edge

If United go 10 points clear Sunday it will take a big turnaround for Liverpool to get ahead, I think Pool were 8 or 9 points clear of United around this time last year

Depends on the 2nd half of the season we have. Can we keep sturridge fit? Do we buy a quality CF in the window? do ye buy an experienced defender?

Ye were 10 points behind us at Christmas I think last year but ye just got progressively worse as the season wore on.

For obvious reasons, we've created and locked the match thread ahead of the game, but that doesn't mean this gets to become the de facto thread for Pool/United baiting and flaming.

If ye can't discuss things civilly, then I can shut this thread too. Namecalling, baiting, etc, are not going to be tolerated so cut it out now.

10 point gap between 2 teams with almost half a season played. Very impressive from ManUtd considering the number of injury problems they had.

Even in the game vs Liverpool none of the new signings started for various reasons.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 15,116 ✭✭✭✭RasTa

I'd easily have Lucas over Carrick, no doubt in my mind about that.

Ah we could go back through this thread or a week or 2 back in the Liverpool thread when I said United were far better than Liverpool and got laughed at but it's United that won the other day so they're trying to keep it quiet. Let them fester in their delusion.

I wouldn't have said poor more like just seem to refuse to be beaten . At times strikers would be thrown on left right and center to win game that they are drawing or loosing .

So they can win games by playing strikers out if position?
Sign of a poor team alright

That's called substituting, all teams are allowed to do this 3 times a game. Some managers like to implement them as a tactic to try and win games.

So presumably Chelsea are good, City are OK and United poor. There's then a fair few places down to Liverpool who are ****e. What are the inbetween teams classed as?

Utd were winning leagues over a year ago. They have spent more than city and Chelsea put together but are 8 points behind them. Utd have been poor this season have they not.

I know. I thought if you are spending 100 million you should be winning the league.

With £145,500,000 spent then you should be winning the league and champions league .

I'd love for Liverpool to be in with a shout for the title this year but not going to happen. I think it's a bit premature for any club to say they can win it in December but having talked (or been slagged to hell) with Utd supporters many seem confident that Van Gaal will deliver a title and it'll be Chelsea v Utd towards the end of the season. Certainly in good form and in the right half of the table tho!

I don't see it really. A poor Liverpool side with no striker starting created more chances away from home than they did against any other side this season.

And yet if you read the United superthread, not one United fan is saying we will win the title or even come close to winning the title.

    Strange.

I don't want to trawl through pages and pages just to justify that comment but having said it I suppose I should -

That was just a quick browse jumping multiple pages.

Look no one is taking the piss, I wouldn't blame Utd fan's. Great form. Great squad (if it would all stay fit).

Or you could say a Manchester United team without any of its summer signings and riddled with defensive injuries beat Liverpool 3-0 while playing relatively poor.

Yes I don't think utd played particularly well on Sunday. They gave up a lot of chances. I'm sure Van Gal will not be happy with the amount of chances liverpool created. That's some squad utd have that they can still field a team like that.
