Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hey lads,

So after passing my A2 last week on my restricted ER5, I'm thinking about getting a bigger engine bike (which I will get restricted obviously).

The bike will be mostly used for commuting, and the occasional ride on weekends. Power is not massive importance to me, since the bike will be getting restricted to 35kW. All I'm interested in is comfort and reliability, I would like ABS, but its not too bad if the bike doesn't have it.

I like both the CBF600 and ER6 (n or f), but am very open to other models (with the restriction that the bike has to be less the 70kW power when new). What would be the best/most ideal bike to suit my needs? Budget will be around €3500. Also, any recommendations on where to buy?

    Cheers!

fz6 hands down... newer model. Low consumption and perfect engine.

Don't see what's the point of swapping your 500 twin for a 650 single.

Yes it's better looking, has more torque and is a more modern bike, but it has slightly less power and a lower top speed than your ER-5.
Not much of an upgrade, especially if you use the motorway and national roads.

Better getting a bike with more poke that you can derestrict when you get your Full A licence.
